How great was it to see Davos and Tormund totally unimpressed by Ramsey during the initial meet up. Glad they both made it through.

Seeing those Stark banners again, perfect.

^^ That is easily one of the best sequences I have ever seen on TV or in film. Thank the gods Davos was on point tonight.

Got nothing to add to what was said about the battle and the satisfying end to Ramsey.

I think we are finally going to see a lot of plot progression now.

The North has been retaken by the Starks. Maybe time to start planning for the Whitewalkers, granted it seems like any army the North could muster was just decimated in the Battle of Winterfell.

Dany has her ships, she has a Dothraki horde, she has whats left of her Unsullied and those mercenaries her boy toy leads.... She put the masters in their place and bent slavers bay to her will. I think she can move on to Westeros now.

Also looks like Varys "secret mission" to find allies in Westeros is Dorne, because it wasn't to contact Theon or his sister and it won't make sense to contact Uncle Greyjoy.

So I assume that next week is the reminder to everyone of the White Walkers?

Or is it Dany sailing to Westeros? Or both?

WHAT WILL THE CLIFFHANGER BE?!

^ Tyrion reminded everyone about the wildfire hidden under King's Landing, especially the Sept where Cersei's trial is being held.

I think some of the theories out there about Cersei and the wildfire are likely true. Would be a hell of a season finale.

I think it's going to be Cersei blowing up King's Landing.

She had the "rumours" talk with Qyburn. It was she that informed Qyburn of the rumour. Really, what does Cersei know that others don't? Oh yeah, the same thing Tyrion just mentioned in this episode because Jaime told him. King's Landing, from the Red Keep to the Sept, had wildfire located under it. He killed the King to stop him from blowing it up. Cersei, Tyrion and Brienne are the people who know.

Bran's vision has this:

Everything else had happened in his vision, (although some of it, like Jaime killing the Mad King was our first showing of it) this was the only thing that hadn't happen.

I see Cersei blowing up the Sept, that we were just specifically reminded had barrels of wildfire under it, to kill the faith and the High Sparrow. However, (if not all of King's Landing goes kaboom), I see Tommen being a casualty.

Next week is the longest episode of the series so far, scheduled to run 75 minutes.

Did Carstark die? I know Umber died... but don't recall Carstark dying. He was next to Bolton at the battle IIRC.

Very much this. Sansa's presence has left me feeling really uneasy. I really got the impression she was purposely killing off her siblings, as they are rivals to her claim.

In some ways it makes sense to bring in the Knights of the Vale late, as Ramsay would have over-extended himself. However, they could have come in 10 minutes earlier to the same effect. It's also possible that was the fastest they could get there, and there was no guarantee they would get there. But why wouldn't she let Jon in on the plan?

It is going to be a very long time before TV/movies will impress me as much as this episode did. Maybe never.

If Sansa was being sinister it would make me feel a little better about the whole Helm's Deep/Deus Ex Machina thing there with the Knights of the Vale.

I shouldn't really call it a deus ex machina though because it wasn't really unexpected. I think everyone fully expected this to be how this played out.

I think Hardhome is still my favourite battle scene, but I can't think of another episode of the show that is just overall better than this one.

Unless the last episode is a disaster, this is definitely the best season ever.

Sansa walking away from Ramsay as he is being devoured and her begining to smile was the first moment in this show I actually liked Sansa. I'm not so sure she has broken bad, but I think she is manipulating Little Finger and Jon now.

Also..... Queen in the North?!
