I thought that the league had banned live mascots at the Grey Cup

I think Quick Six has been banned in previous years due to safety reasons (e.g. not enough room behind the teams on the sidelines or the end zone). They have plenty of room at Commonwealth.

Halifax's potential Canadian Football League team name will be the Atlantic Schooners.
Maritime Football Ltd. announced the proposed team will be named the Schooners at the East Coast Kitchen Party Friday during Grey Cup Week in Edmonton.

Is this team really any closer to fruition than in the 80’s? Sounds like a stadium deal hasn’t even begun to be worked on.

Bakari Grant in for Markeith Ambles and Terry Williams in for Romar Morris are the big changes for the Grey Cup game on Sunday. DaVaris Daniels is also in. Position chart is below:

Im a little bit surprised to see them pull Ambles out for Grant but I trust DD to make the right decision in this case. Other than that, its almost time to saddle up and bring the Grey cup back to Calgary. Cant wait for tomorrow!

I think for the most part he wants a experienced core for this game. Last year they lost the game on two critical mistakes.
Tommy Campbells coverage on the sneak route
The fumble scoop and score

^^^ yup, it’s all about the W at this point.
Win and its 4 out of the last 5 grey cups with 2 rings.
Lose and it’s 3 straight losses in the Championship.
60 minutes. Hope the karma for the Stamps is good this year — I think they finally get it done when it matters most.

Just throw constantly to that side judge's side and we should get an extra call or two.
I'm sure they'll be a pregame moment where this Rose idiot goes and apologizes (make sure the TV cameras are on first, of course) to the ref, but the lack of respect, and then him high fiving fans on the way out after being kicked out for aggressively shoving this ref down, shows a total lack of remorse to officials who get paid penuts to do this, in trying to be some tough guy.
Hope this comes back and bites the Redblacks.
Also reminds me of the time Hugh Campbell, Rick's dad, got AJ Gass' 1 game suspension for throwing a Stamps players helmet down the field , tossed, by going to some Alberta Queen's bench judge, and Eskimos season ticket holder, to toss out the CFL suspension so Gass could play against the Stamps.
Only in the CFL.

I went down to the grey cup festivities in downtown Edmonton tonight.
I was quite impressed. Great corporate involvement - ski track, zip line, live music stages outside. Shaw conference center inside was awesome as most teams had big conference rooms booked. Long lines. People in good moods. Most of Saskatchewan was there I think.
Very smart to have a booth selling 50/50 tickets in advance of the game. Edmonton really supports the 50/50 tickets as is. It would not surprise me if tomorrow's is over $500K
Fun times. The organizing committee did a great job with it.
Bonus: I got to meet Pinball Clemons. Big smile, so friendly with everyone he met.

I agree, the Festival aspect of the Grey Cup seems to have been excellently put together. Hopefully we put on a similar show next year. Had a great time at Stamps House last night. The band was pretty good, dueling piano guys were very entertaining, fair amount of Stamps alumni there including Jon Cornish.
