On forward and D I am basically holding down L2 for most of the game, my middle finger might as well be glued there. On forward you need to hold it to do one handed dekes and shoot without risk of checking, and you skate faster on D (ie. retrieving a dump etc) when you skate straight right from the get-go. But I understand how it can be annoying if you aren't used to it.
Pro/Casual is pretty stupid as it is self-regulated anyways. The only difference is that the casual medals don't count towards the playoffs, which are for Pro only.

Ok.... so this lag is really starting to frustrate me and any help would be.... awesome.... I did some speed tests online.... I am with Telus out here in Vancouver.
I did a ping test on and my line was grade A.... ping was 34ms, jitter was 1ms and no packet loss.
did the speed test and download was 2.9 mbps, and upload was 0.9 mbps.
when I switched from shaw I was told the speed was exactly the same, I had 10 mbps with shaw, and 3 with telus.
My ps3 is using a wired connection, through a router.... don't know how to adjust anything
I just want to play without feeling like that fat kid in gym class
HELP!!!!

When you set up your wired connection on the PS3, what download speed result are you getting? Also what is the NAT type?

KG, I am with chuck in that I play virtually the whole game holding down L2.
I find it improves my agility in front of the net and my ability to take shots and centering passes off the skates/shinpads.

If you're going through a router that should be NAT 2....

Go to http://portforward.com/ and find your router and use the settings for NHL09.

Alright.... got off the phone with telus and apparently I had their old, old, old.... old system.... they capped my internet a 3 mbps.... what made it more apparent was when I went on the website Merc showed me and my equipment wasn't on their.
But Monday, I'll have real internet
