However, if they announce a release date for 3.0 then expect new iPhones at that time too.
I got a value pack for smart phones that has 2500 text messages per month (sent). That with caller ID and voicemail is something like $10 a month.

I don't understand why you'd release a new phone in July and not announce it at a press event where everybody is watching. It seems rather risky to not announce a new phone with Palm selling the pre a few days before. They could still focus on 3.0.
And my god that beta sounds terrifying. Sure hope they get that thing under control by the end of summer.

Because the WWDC conference isn't a press event per se. There is the keynote speech, but really.. it's for developers to come and ask questions. My opinion of how the firmware and SDK are right now is that it's nowhere near where it needs to be. I keep waiting for the next beta.
WWDC is all about software. So if there are announcements it will be in regards to 3.0 or Snow Leopard. Everything except for the keynote is under an NDA.

So... My app was supposed to launch on Monday just in time for WWDC. But then my boss sent me an e-mail saying that Apple asked us to wait to launch until Wednesday. We had heard some talk of being featured during the keynote.. and this cryptic comment from Apple is lending credence to that..
So if you hear about an app from AccuTerra.. that's mine.

Wow, cool dude! Let us know how it goes. I'll probably buy it even if I don't need it.
Then I'll rate it 1 star and say it's a crappy waste of money that doesn't even work. j/k!

judging by the website super cool app. but maybe show the app in the videos. watching an old out of breath guy walk away and walk back was...uninspiring.

LOL.. I saw those videos and went WTF? Who is that? And why on Earth did they find some old fart who's probably not even using the app doing this?
Obviously we weren't mentioned in the keynote.. that's fine. But I then realized that the Design awards are given out on Tuesday night.. I pinged my boss and he said: "no comment"

Lol, that sucks. I don't know how many 2nd place trophies we had from various competitions from Nokia, Navteq, and Game Developer's Conference and stuff.

well I recieved an email back from rogers. I dont know if tethering will only be included during that time or it will only be included if you sign up for a plan during that time.
for some reason they thought I asked what tethering was.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, we appreciate your use of
online customer service.
In your recent email, you have inquired about iPhone 3.0 software
supports tethering. Additionally when you signed up foryour 6 GB plan
you though you read tethering is included.
Tethering is the use of your phone as a wireless modem to connect to the
Internet from your computer. For a limited time, if you subscribe to a
data option, which includes at least 1GB of data transmission between
June 8, 2009 and December 31, 2009, you may use tethering as part of the
volume of data included in your option at no additional charge.
Tethering cannot be used with data options of less than 1GB.
Additionally, Tethering data usage will come out of your existing data
bucket. Overage charges may apply if data usage exceeds amount included
in your data bucket.

From Roger's social Media guy's twitter:
"Both Rogers Wireless and Fido will offer iPhone 3GS starting June 19."
"Rogers is reintroducing the $30/6GB data plan for iPhones effective tomorrow, June 9. Offer available for a limited time."
"Rogers/Fido pricing is $199 for 16GB iPhone 3GS; $299 for 32GB iPhone 3GS on a three-year voice and data plan."
"8GB version of the iPhone 3G will drop to $99 on June 19 at Rogers and Fido with a three-year voice and data plan."

Seems to say that the prices will be the same for those that qualify for an upgrade, I don't know how to qualify though.

Just wondering what most people do for plans on Rogers? I assume i'll do the $30/6gig plan, so I'd just need to tack on a phone plan, + text plan? What combo's are people using? Thanks for the help!

It's not for big downloads, but its awesome for email, browsing, streaming audio/video, etc. 3G is good enough to stream hockey games via tethering.
