But SNW has been very good so far. Not mad at all about that.

Its different writers and showrunners for SNW, Henry Alonso Myers seems quite competent. No more desperate housewives writers like Jordan Nordino and Cindy Appel.

Picard is definitely flawed, but I don't mind it. I enjoyed the 1st season quite a bit, and S2 had some decent moments, including the finale which I liked.
Discovery on the other hand...yeesh. What an awful series. I'm shocked that it's lasted 4 seasons. And now a 5th on the way? Yuck.

This is what I mean, you have to incorporate the entire cast.
She's great!

I don’t disagree. Straight ripoff from the Orville (Malloy) though.

Nope, that's why STD and Picard were such a mess. Showrunners and writing teams were used to manufacturing drama from daytime soaps. Explains a lot from the whole Burnham weepy drama BS which shaped that character and leaps of logic that messed up all the storylines.

The problem with both Discovery and Picard is they are built on poor foundations and the faulty premise of a show revolving around a main character in Burnham and Picard. Couple that with idiot writers and producers and you end up with galactic events all circling around that main character that makes no sense and it is NOT Star Trek. You see this in other franchises as well where the emphasis is on the main character as it's very easy to lazily write them as the center of the universe where their personal story and timeline affect all of reality. This is exacerbated with Picard as he is a direct legacy character and when you hire Desperate Housewives writers who have no idea what Star Trek is, they have no idea who the character is except "important old man".
SNW is back to the ensemble cast of characters just inhabiting a universe and trying to get by on a daily basis which is what Trek always was. SNW's premise is so good (I mean it's basically TOS you can't mess that up) that even Burnham would be a decent bridge side-character on Pike's enterprise.

Now you’ve done it. I fully expect Burnham to step through a spacetime anomaly right onto the bridge of the Enterprise, and Pike immediately step aside to make room for Starfleet’s greatest officer.

That we've never heard of since.
Even Zephram Cochrane got a statue...

The quality trajectory of SNW is madness.
I liked Episode 1 and then the rest of the episodes were just like..."Hold my beer."
This last episode? What in the...? It was wacky, it was weird, it was cliched and dumb at times and it was....it was great.
If I thought that Lower Decks breathed a little life into the dying embers of the fire that is Star Trek, this show has just poured gasoline onto it.

If your taking about the Freaky Friday Spock Episode then I’m with ya! All I could really think was “now this is your good ol Original/TNG/DS9 for ya”.
Absolutely shouted out in glee when they discovered what happened.
Also, loving Nurse Chapel. She’s definitely becoming a vital piece.

Absolutely. I'm sorry, but that was a thoroughly entertaining and well done piece of Television.
You actually like and care about each different character and they play important roles and have things to do...you know...like a Crew.
Sure, they had their 'memberberries' scenes, but so what?
For me the quality of this show has just steadily increased each episode. I like it all. Pump it into my veins!
I'd be even more thrilled if it hadnt been slightly overshadowed by The Orville Season 3's first episode. Slightly.
But even then? So what? Just more good TV!

For what was a bit of a silly episode, I absolutely loved it, mainly because the cast did a amazing job of it, and allowed their personalities to come through.
With so many interconnected storylines, with Enterprise Bingo, Spock and his fiances body sway. Pike going off the reservation in the diplomatic side of things, and the real star of the episode Nurse Chapel's relationship and her desire to help Spock.
What a great episode, and I loved the sail ship, what a beautiful piece of effects.
This show is so much fun to watch, and easy to watch as well.

The show takes place 7 years before we see Kirk in the pilot episode of TOS.
I hope that means we get 7 seasons of SNW because it's fantastic.

The show isn't constrained to one season show time = one year our time on account of shorter seasons now and they are airing random stardates for each episode. So they could in theory go long if they wanted to and could sign the cast up for it. Just at some point before Kirk takes over, Pike needs get put in the chair/tube.

I was just on IMDB and saw Star Trek Picard's showrunner also did the recent MacGuyver reboot. That explains a lot.

I liked the silliness of freaky friday spock. My wife rolled her eyes but I enjoyed it like an old star trek episode. IF only they could do 30 episodes a season lol!

Yeah, just the fact that they even produced a weird / silly character episode shows that these writers are finally ones that get it. This show actually feels like Trek and it’s wonderful. Keep this and Lower Decks and trash the others please.

With shorter episode counts per season we'll hopefully get fewer duds if they take this for many seasons.
Season 7 of TNG felt mailed-in. So many bad episodes.
