I have as much faith in the patches arriving on time with the designated updates as I did that this game would be released completed.
In my business, when I royally screw up delivery of the goods to a customer, I offer them a discount on those goods to retain them as a client or I offer them other items and accessories that compliment the products they've ordered for free in order to retain their account.
In the end, it costs a bit of money to make them happy, but it costs significantly less than losing them as a customer altogether.
It speaks to the respect for the community of customers that EA isn't pressured to even explain the failure.
The best, surefire way to lose someone as a customer for me is to short ship them an item, not tell them about it, and then not follow up when they question me about it. It's more effective than calling them an #######.

not sure how the game can get any score over 6-6.5. sure the gameplay/broadcast look good but there's no game modes around that, that are actually worth playing.

A little surprising. I expected it to get mostly good reviews based on the upgraded graphics and presentation alone. Good to see some honest reviews out there.

I hope EA is embarrassed enough to make an organizational change. This sort of product should be unacceptable.
Rammer should get the axe for sure.

A 68 is far too high. Some reviewers clearly have never played previous versions (and hence missing game modes).

I cancelled my Amazon.ca order based on all the information I have read on the internet and early reviews, even though I already got a dicsount on it. I really hope everyone else does the same. EA and their disgusting business practices must not be supported.

Jets goal horn still wrong. Jesus. Glad we have no game modes so arenas and presentations are so spot on.

This is the first year since the first version (which a 14/15 year old zukes rented like crazy) that I didn't buy early or on the first day. I may buy it once I see what is in the patches and if they deliever, but for now a 22 year streak of release day (or earlier) buys is broken and I may just wait until next year.
Madden (though ineed of a slight patch itself) and The Show (the gold standard in sports gaming right now) are both quality games that I play all the time.
It makes me sad that it has come to this, but I am not wasting my money on garbage.

I hope everyone refunds this POS. It still blows me away that EA thought they could get away with a scam like this. Did they really believe that they would get away with this and not sniff a single moment of bad press? lol if so, then their lead designer has the common sense of a head of lettuce.
This is what happens when the dollar sign overrides your common sense and lack of judgement. EA knew that they should have either 1) Priced this at $29.99 or 2) "Hey fans, we have run into some time constraints and will be pushing back the release date to October." Had they done either, fans would have understood and still supported their product. An extra month in development would not have hurt their pocketbooks.
I hope their entire team gets fired. Not because they failed in putting out a compentant NHL game with 2 years development, but because what theyre doing is borderline illegal. Putting out a 40% complete game at full price is one thing, but lying to your fans right up to release date is another.
Its like going to the dealer and paying full price for a brand new car. But the dealer took out the hubcaps, the paint, sunroof, stereo, doors, headlights, wipers, seats. "But hey guys, it still runs...we will add everything else later"
Theres even a couple sites that have labelled this as a permanent black mark on their reputation and the EA NHL series as a whole. It will not be forgotten by fans and I think it will hurt their sales for NHL 16 as well.

Originally i was going to wait until Thursday or Friday but I already caved, my PS4 copy is sitting here beside me. I plan to open it in about 30 minutes right after sending a few more work emails and calling it a day.
If anyone has played multiple seasons of Be a GM already, could you please share if prospects playing in the AHL still get better each season? I know we can no longer play our AHL team affiliates nor do the players in the minors receive any stats but i havent found out yet if they still actually improve at seasons end? Thanks in advance for the help.

From what ive noticed, no they dont. I simmed through a few seasons over the weekend. Their is pretty much no progress meter or charts in the game for AHL or NHL teams.
