Completely missed the point. Then again, maybe my post was too short for you.
Anyways, anyone have any juicy updates from the Occupy situation?

Seriously? You have the nerve to come after me last week for doing exactly what you're doing here. What a piece of work.
Maybe you should start taking your own advice

Doing what? You obviously aren't following the discussion. We discussed drive-by's last week, and that's not happening here whatsoever. What exactly are you missing?

Do you want to add to the discussion or do you want to be a petulant little brat?
On topic, it would be rather bizarre if the Occupy Calgary protest outlasted the Occupy NY protest, and depending on the ruling in NY today that may well happen.

Dozens of demonstrators were given white and yellow slips, saying their tents would be impounded if they were not removed within 24 hours.
But the encampment, which has staked out Olympic Plaza since mid-October, vowed to stay.
“I’m telling you guys, I’m not moving from this spot and I’m protesting until I know our things are heard,” said James Bullock, 21. He said he wanted the mayor to speak to protesters about improving the drop-in centres and group homes — both of which are provincial responsibilities.
Bullock said he expects the city to resort to violence when removing tents, which is expected to happen on Wednesday.
“They’re going to bring their riot shields in. They’re going to throw us on the ground and beat our skulls in,” Bullock said.

Their surrounded by media, they've become the main topic of debate for city council for weeks now, and they still don't think they've been heard.
That last statement about waiting for the riot shields & beating skulls in scares the crap out of me. They've basically admitted (whether it's the group or just one person) that they arean't leaving without a scene. Basically saying "unless you beat my skull in, I'm not leaving".
If these protesters had two brain cells to rub together they'd agree to leave, they'd issue a press release to the media saying "We've been heard and we are going to pack up at X Time and will be releasing a closing statement at that time"
At least they could leave with their heads held high that they were in fact, heard, but they seem insistant on taking the scorched earth approach instead.

It's pretty clear they're looking for a physical confrontation from police and bylaw officers. Any shred of credibility will be lost and they'll end up looking like a bunch of idiots in the eyes of citizens.
They should be saying to themselves that we did our best and now it's time to close shop and move on and occupy a job. have to wonder what their parents think about their actions.

Don't kid yourself - much to your dismay I'm sure, the protestors will continue in some other way. As is their right.

Badda-bing, badda-boom.

Do you belong to or support a particular party? With your repeated attacks its obvious that you have a political motive in your attempts to discredit or smear the First Lady and her husband.
Lets be honest here yourself. Whats your political motivation in all this?... since this is really all about politics for you (not human rights)... isn't it?

I'd be perfectly happy if they protest daily at Olympic Plaza as long as they don't camp there and they leave when the park closes each night. THOSE are the rights they have and I'm happy for them to exercise them.

That's what I'm okay with too. Not sure how camping in the Plaza is going to do any more than being there for MOST of the day.

I laughed at the news last night, i think it was one of the occupy camps being shut down and this one protestor was screaming at the cops "Don't beat me"
And he had to scream because the cops were across the street eating donuts and drinking coffee.
