Bautista is swinging at pitches he wouldn't normally bat an eye at.

That's surprising.

Ahhhh...If only EE could throw.....It's a shame cause he's not a bad fielder really and he's certainly got power.

Rich Harden's best performance of the year. Nice win by the A's. Too bad its too little too late.

I would not be opposed to throwing Lind in a deal for a starter in the offseason, keeping EE at DH, and going after one of the good free agent first basemen.

Realistically, Lind has more value than EE, but both surprisingly are close with the bat, so if you can get more out of Lind in a trade return and throw some bucks at a 1B/DH type (Fielder), it might be a good option depending on how things turn out for the remainder of the year.

Lind has done next to nothing since the start of July. Aaron Hill's sub .600 ops is no good either. If you're that unproductivevat the plate as an everyday player, you better be a gold glove calibre SS or CF.

Snider 2-2 with 2 RBI so far with the 51's. Hopefully he can get back up very quick, otherwise he'll get the label as a AAAA player, not good enough for major league pitching, too good for minor league pitching.

Aaron Hill is absolutely terrible. There's a chance he may resurrect his career but it sure as hell won't be in Toronto. Let him leave this offseason and see if he can figure it out somewhere else, the guy is a lost cause in TO.

In other words, look for him to surface in Japan.

Here's the problems with that...

A: The Middle Infielder Free Agent Market is really thin, Jose Reyes (who has some health issues and will cost a metric tonne of $ and force you to hand over compensation picks) and then a whole bunch of guys that aren't really better then Aaron Hill.
B: As a result of "A" the trade market is going to cost a bunch more.
C: The Jays don't have any middle infield prospects that are close to major league ready in all facets of the game.

That being said I forsee the Jays declining his options and then trying to negotiate a deal that involves less money.

Yeah, he's slumping a bit right now... was bound to happen sometime during season. Everyone slumps every once in a while.

Where was he for the first two months of the year? IIRC he did the same thing last season - Terrible start offensively and defensively only to put up big numbers in the final 60 games and round out his stats. If he could play somewhere in between this and april/may all season then we'd have a solid player.

Mark Teahen would be a better option at this point.

Dustin McGowan in his AA debut pitched 4 shutout innings, allowed 1 hit while striking out 4. It's a working progress, but we may see him up this year.

Well, Alvarez can throw heat, but I'm not sure his secondary stuff is good enough to stay up in the bigs for an extended period of time.

If he can't develop a good curve/slider by this time next year, at least he'll be a decent closer.

Gio's control problems continue to really hold him back from being an elite left-hander in the league.
