Thought I'd bump as Bioware has announced a new digital expansion for December. It will cost $20.00
The Shadow of Reven
level cap will be raised to 60
2 new neutral flashpoints and 4 hm flashpoints
2 level 60 operations
2 new worlds
They're throwing out the skill tree and replacing it with a new Dicipline system
New Revanite gear.
New story lines

Yeah, I like Revan as well, even though I think he's been a little forced in his drive to save the galaxy he's decided to destroy both sides in this war.
I figure that there are two major story expansion left. This one which will probably be the finale for Revan.
And one dealing with the Emperor who's still floating out there.
That's the question, we never see a body, he vanishes.
I think this has to do with the revanite Cult on Drummond Kas, so the question is, is this a Revanite trick? Is it really Revan and he survived and built an army.
One of the wackiest theories is that this is Revan who has become a new Emperor's voice and is an amalgamation of Revan and the Emperor who was trying to feed off of all life in the Galaxy to become imortal, but could only trigger the ritual through the deaths of millions.
BTW for those that do the early signup, beyond the 12x class points bump. You get the Grand Statue of Revan for your Stronghold. Its a big Mamma Jamma
Its separate, right now there's no free expansion.
for those that don't have Rise of the Hutt Cartel if they buy this expansion they also get that one.
Personally, I think that there should be a subscription reward for subscribers who have bought both expansion packs. Everyone gets the statue and everyone gets the 12x bonus, but I think that there should be something like a CM reward, or a free room opening on your stronghold or something like that.
Is it worth playing? Don't like games with bland character customization, do like when a game has opportunity for many different builds with creativity having an impact on gameplay. Path of exile is the best for this, played through the game and made my character unlike any other player I saw the entire time. Neverwinter was awful for this, 6 or so character classes and they were all the same. Thanks for any advice
I wouldn't call it bland at all, first of all every base character has a choice of two advance classes,
Plus with the new diciplines system replacing the skill points system you can basically customize how your character fights based on your own design.
I really like this game, I'm one of the original people signing up and I'm still playing it through with 8 different characters, and still finding new things to do.
(Hey I just found out about GSI terminals)
Plus the content addons have been pretty strong.
the writing and storylines is still the strength of the game though. Its more of a hybrid story driven mmo then anything else.
I don't find it that way, there are certainly some grind elements, especially when you hit end game, but I've had 8 toons in the game and I'm still playing and I get bored very quickly, but I'm still finding new things.
With this new content and Galactic Starfighter and running a new tune I still pretty much strictly play it.
The 12x XP bonus for pre-ordering is awesome, you can fly through the game just doing the class missions, no need to do FP's or side quests (unless you want the gear or credits).Main missions on Ilum and Makeb award 400K+ of XP. I took my Imperial Agent from lvl 46 to 55 in about 5 hours, 51-55 just doing the story line on Ilum.
Also the Overall XP boost (25%) and Guild XP boost (10%) stack with the 12x bonus.

How does that work for gearing your character though? You won't get enough commendations to upgrade every 5-10 levels just by doing the class quests

There is a definite "gear gap", luckily most of the lower level stuff is pretty cheap on the GTN, especially if you just buy green/blue items. If you have a high level toon with some cash you can fund that way, or pick up some legacy gear and pass stuff down to lower lvl toons, ripping higher lvl mods from the weps/armor can get pricey though.
With the 12x boost, I've found that yes you can level to 55 just doing the class quests, but I'm still doing the class quests and over classing my character on each world and pretty much soloing heroic 2s and 4s to get the additional commendations or drops to Red gear.
I also got into the habit of finishing one world and quickly going back to the previous two to do the dailies. This allowed me to bump up my armor and weapons, but also my companions. Because I've run through the story lines once and finished all the companion story lines, I don't really care about them so I'm running my story lines with Tweek who is probably the strongest companion when properly outfitted.

So I'm running all of my toons through end game solo content (Strongholds cost money yo) and leveling up a new Warrior.
I did notice that its clear that the writers like the Republic better then the Empire especially n Makeb where the Makeb series and end game fight are insanely hard, while the Republic story line and the end game are fairly easy.
But its good to have 8 characters with a pool of about 20 million dollars to use.

Trying to get back into this game but it's tough, my marauder is lvl 33 but he feels so damn weak compared to my powertech. I can kill things a little quicker but he dies so quickly, especially in PvP. There's also way more skills to keep track of than the PT so it seems like an overly complicated class that's weaker than any other melee. May have to shelve him and level something else
