Wow definitely didn't see that one coming. You would have thought the gators would have enough pull to get a proven guy.

Not only that but not a guy who is a GRADUATE OF GEORGIA!!! He is a Bulldog and now is our HC...
If the rumors about Dana Holgemson (sp) the OC at Oklahoma State and was at Texas Tech during the Leech years coming to UF are making this hire a better. The best part is that he is taking a run at Kirby smart! If we can get those two I wont be so pissed.

Muschamp was the best recruiter UT has had besides Mack. I also have it from a couple of sources in Austin that Major Applewhite will be the OC of Florida (i have my doubts, you would think he would first see if he got the Texas OC spot which he is on the shortlist). So now who is Mack Brown going to get for offense and defense.
Top running back coming into UT Malcolm Brown also said that main reason he was going to UT was Applewhite this could really suck for the Longhorns.

I'm starting to grow to the idea.
Florida insiders are saying that Applewhite is a done deal too. Some other coach with a funny name (db coach) is on his way too.
Another rumor is that UF is taking a run at Kirby Smart to be it's defensive coordinator.
EDIT
Akina is the other coaches name

Lots of speculation tonight that Marc Trestman very well might be the next HC for the Hurricanes. I believe he has connections to the Canes from previously coaching there in the 80s.

Shaggybevo isn't a real safe place now.

I'm pretty sure I could be an amazing recruiter at Texas having no experience what so ever. Gotta be one of the easiest teams to recruit for.

Rumors are that Randy Shannon is the new DC of the Longhorns. I personally am a fan of the hire if true. Teryl Austin from Florida of all places is also rumored.

either or, you will be in good hands. Teryl didn't get a fair shake here. He was the scapegoat for a couple of losses due to the defense being on the field 3/4 of the game.

The rumors were that there were up to a dozen players that tested positive, but based on what came out at the press conference today that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm still suspicious though, rumors that big don't just come out of nowhere.
Either way Hampton transferred, Robinson looks to be out, another RB (can't recall the name, but a contributor) is gone. They're basically left with one RB for the bowl game, and maybe for next season too.

Wow, surprised you could get that bet in. I heard they closed betting pretty quick when the rumors broke.

Trestman just might have got the job at the Miami, but he withdrew his name from the job.
Amazing someone would withdraw from such a high profile position. He must have a good reason I guess.

Mark Cuban has decided to quit trying to buy professional sports teams and try and fund a playoff system... I would be interested to see what he comes up with as he is a very smart man, but they are saying that he would try and get donors to stop giving money to programs to get them to pull out of the BCS. Good luck getting all the big time programs who have legitimate shots at the NC's donors to pull out. I know Texas guys probably wouldn't
