Blah it's 91 here,not much breeze.

The Flames sticker is on my personal truck, not my mail truck. Someone had some Steelers stickers on his mail truck and of coursehe had to remove them.

My dog only pees when I say "go potty" now that he is getting bigger I sound like a major tool telling him in a high pitched baby voice to "go potty" so yeah using "go outside" is probably better.

We walk our 5 month old puppy at least twice a day and an off leash adventure usually 3 times a week. Once the bathroom schedule starts become 'regular' it gets easier.

I think I would laugh harder at someone saying go outside, when they are already outside.

Heh. Yeah, I've already gone over that in my head how stupid I sound telling my already outside dog to go outside. Where it comes in handy is when I'm at home or at a friend's house and my dog starts whining and I ask her if she needs to go outside... Her reaction is priceless.

A couple weeks ago I took my dog to the dog park. Afterwards, we got in the truck and I was showering her with praise for listening to *most* of my commands. Yes, it involved a bit of baby talk, but I was alone in the truck with my dog. Right?

Wrong. As I went to pull out of the parking lot, my natural habit is to put my phone in it's holder. As I grabbed it out of my pocket, I discovered that I had pocket dialed someone. I'm not going to specify who this person is in relation to me, but suffice it to say it was pretty mortifying. Three minutes. Three freaking minutes. Maybe subtract 30 seconds of ringing and the process of going to voicemail... Two minutes and thirty seconds.

hehe, within the confines of my house and car I baby talk my dog constantly. Even sometimes at the dog park as well. That is priceless though, did you hear from that person about it?

What dog park do you and the new girl go to?

I discovered the greatest dog park in Calgary for people with dogs that have selective hearing... It's on 32 ave and 10 st NW. It is completely enclosed with gates at all four corners, so if your dog has a tendancy to chase things/people/dogs/wind take the mutt there. It's basically a humongous backyard with people and dogs. Like a bar for dogs. They just roam around in packs and the owners stand there and chat and periodically wander over to pick up crap.

My favourite dog park is the one behind the T&T supermarket on Harvest Hills Blvd. It is so huge (stretches from harvest hills almost all the way to deerfoot) and awesome. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go there this afternoon.

Hmm very interesting, I haven't tried either of those dog parks. I usually go to Southland, as the dog likes going in the water. However now that its colder and I get more bored of the same park I've been wanting to try more. Nose Hill is fun but its pretty far from where I live.

You don't have a German Shepard that wears a fluoresent orange and yellow jacket do you?

If so: your dog is a jerk and shouldn't be allowed off-leash (end vent)

I was at Southland this morning. I definately will check out the 10st one as well.

No! Mines more collie than german shepherd (see profile pic) and the only clothing we put on him is a Flames jersey (he will be known as Kuipersoff during hockey games). I am at work and will be going to Southland in a few hours.

I cannot stand the jerk dogs, I don't understand why owners can be so oblivious to how much of a jerk their dogs may be. When my dog starts to try to bully smaller dogs I'm on him SO fast, and feel so guilty and apologetic. He is just a puppy but I don't allow him to chase the smaller dogs.

If you're a single male with a dog you must use it for the purposes of picking up chicks. It's in the bible.

I have only ever gone to southland, but in the winter time it kinda sucks. Wish there was another one in the SE

Especially one like 4x4 described, where the dogs can just run and play. Some days I just don't feel like walkign the entire 2 hours

Since my dog is a rescue, I'm really not sure what her breed is. I can tell she's part heeler, but the other half is a bit of a mystery. I used to think lab, but now I'm thinking greyhound because she's so fricken fast it's unbelievable.

When I take her to an unenclosed park, she's off like a bullet and I have to chase her. Thankfully I found this enclosed park so that I don't have to worry about her getting lost. There's no trees and no water. Just a big field with a fence all around it and gates at the entrances. She can go and sniff all the butts she wants and I can just stand there and drink coffee and chat with hot moms.

For anyone that is looking for this park, it's a wee bit tricky to find. 32 ave doesn't connect to 4th street because of queens park cemetary, so you have to take 30th ave and it wraps around and turns into 32 ave. If you're coming off northmount drive or 10th street (effectively the same road) take that weird turn where it kind of veers off northward.

It's seriously the perfect park for anyone whose dog doesn't listen very well yet. A puppy owner's paradise.
