Of course they are very fortunate that Stone is out.
I miss the old playoff format of best against worst seeds right through to the final.

It should be the old 1v8 2v7 etc format again, but with one change. The weaker division winner should be able to slide as low as the #4 seed if their record is worse than some non-division-winners. That way both division winners are still guaranteed home ice in round 1.
If it was formatted like that, this year you would see
1. Jets
2. Knights
3. Stars
4. Kings
5. Avalanche
6. Oilers
7. Wild
8. Blues (should be Flames but that's a whole other discussion)
Round 1:
1 Jets vs 8 Blues
2 Knights vs 7 Wild
3 Stars vs 6 Oilers
4 Kings vs 5 Avalanche (someone other than the filth getting the easy path to round 2 for a change...)
Assuming Jets, Knights, Stars, Avs get through, you'd have Jets vs Avs; Knights vs Stars. If Oilers got through you'd see Jets vs Oilers; Knights vs Avs.
