Our small cul de sac was repaved two weeks ago. Guy across the street has been parking his sh1tty truck in our cul de sac and oil has leaked all over the new asphalt. We may have a conversation.

Laugh all you want, kiddo. The sheer utility, comfort and beauty of a pickup truck dawn on people as they age and start getting their spinal disks popped reaching for stuff hiding in the abyss of their car trunks. I haven’t owned a pickup truck in my life, but my next car will be a truck I tell ya. Maybe, even an electric one, if I can afford it, like Toyota Tacoma or Hummer.

You think a modern truck is easy to get stuff out of, with the tailgate 4 foot up? Oh, my watermelon rolled to the front of the bed. Fun!

Who doesn't love to get a step ladder out every time they need to retrieve something form their vehicle? "My vehicle is so ridiculous I need a ladder to get my stuff!" isn't the stunning advantage over a car trunk you think it is.

The use of Kiddo, Bud, Buddy, Pal, Chum, etc.

RGMG's

This isn't aimed at you CaptainYooh, per se. For some reason you have used this type of wording twice in the last few posts.

4' ??? how lifted of a truck are you talking about??

my truck is lifted 7.5" and sits on 35" tires. the tailgate is only 39" off the ground! (yes... i went and measured it!) it's a great height - no need to bend down when getting things out of the box!

as for stuff sliding to the front of the box - yea... that is annoying, but that's why i made a divider for my truck....
Spoiler!

there's lots of stuff that is too big to use the divider with and that's fine - i keep a hockey stick in the back of my truck to help pull things from the front of the bed to the back of the bed. it's also great to have with you if you happen to come across a game of road hockey and they are short a guy!
