edit - that Ferland video led me to AC's brilliant Ferland vs Vancouver video. So good. Those hits on Bieksa - drove him crazy. Bieksa heard footsteps that entire series.

My favourite clip in here is at 6:54. The look on Bieksas face when he sees its Ferland is hilarious.
Bennett needs to follow Neal around very closely. He is exactly what Bennett needs to be. Hopefully some of that "Real Deal" can rub off on Bennett.
Hopefully. A lot of qualities and traits where they could be similar type players. Tough to play against, have an edge to them etc. The biggest challenge for Bennett is that he doesn't have a great shot like Neal. Neal finishes plays and scores goals. Bennett though could play a more defensive role than Neal.
Going back to last season Bennett is on a 16 game pointless streak (13 games last season to end year, 3 games so far). -10 +/- over that time. No points since Mar 9.
Started last season pointless first 15 games.

I have to admit, when I saw Bennett buzzing out there next to Dube I needed my fainting couch.
Maybe Dube is the player Bennett has needed all along to drag the offense out of him. Dube pushes the pace in an almost Gaudreau'ian fashion. With bennett being an off the rush player, maybe that's what he needs to find some success?

I think that the North South Style is certainly a factor. Another is that Bennett wants to beat players with strength and speed. It looks to me like he has finally gained his "man strength." MacKinnon while being a more skilled player has a similar style of play to Bennetts in that he loves to bull rush players and go hard to the net. After turning 22 last year MacKinnon was able to dominate with this style of play and he doubled his point totals. I think that Bennett plays a mans game, so to speak, and he is finally playing in a mans body.

If Bennett plays the way he's played to start the year, he's going to be pushing up against 40 points at the end of the year. He looks strong, he looks responsible, and he doesn't look invisible.
So to answer the title question, 'no'.
