Holy guys, settle down. I hate it but damn, McDavid is unbelievable. I don't remember seeing anyone that fast, I'm 40, I've seen a lot of hockey. Sometimes you just have to give respect.
That being said. Outside of versteeg, glass and Hathaway not a lot of extra effort out there.

Although the it's only the first game..but how do the flames stop him now and in the future?
I say just keep hitting him every single chance. Have someone just shadow him like there's no tomorrow.
Any other thoughts?

Yikes, Brodie has looked pretty bad this game. Hopefully just early season rust and getting used to Hamonic.
Stupid plays all around this game, but Brodie has been responsible for too many this game!

Yup. Without McDavid, the Oilers are a below average team at best. Flames are letting him single-handedly win the game. Makes me sick.

Bartowski should be benched for Jankowski. Position taken into account

I think Brodie is grossly overrated. He is nonchalant defensively at times, and for all his skill I think he over thinks the offencive side of the game.
Overall, our defence is so overrated. Nobody other than Giordano and hopefully hamonic are any good at defence.

You have to at least attempt to slow him down. Checking and slowing him in the neutral zone. If you let him wind up he's just going to burn you. He's too fast and too talented.

Try to match with guys who will possess the puck and keep it away from him (i.e. 3M)
