Certainly a strange choice to move considering the choices like Raymond or Bollig even if the return is much lower. Flames have little need for picks for a player like Bouma and he's not likely to bring back anything else that would be an immediate improvement anywhere.

I love Bouma, he's a warrior and a shot blocking machine. But was last year and aberration or a trend upwards? Mighty be a case of selling high, but I still don't see it happening unless the return is sick.

I don't buy it. Teams are very likely inquiring, but that is very different from Treliving actively looking to move him.

I should clarify this^^^

I don't mean it as in he's an "untouchable". I mean you don't move a guy like Bouma, because he's worth much more to this team than what you'd get back in a trade.

With Frolik getting 5x$4.3, is it unreasonable to think Bouma is asking for something comparable? Is it to much for Treliving to be comfortable with. I'd have thought 4 years at $3-$3.5 would have been reasonable, but the Frolik deal may have pigeon holed them in negotiations with Bouma. Hope they get something done, I'd hate to see Bouma moved, he is everything the Flames want to be, heart, soul, and never say die.
