Another one of those wins that you'd just not have expected the Jays to get prior to the All Star break. Very good to see!
With Baltimore's loss to Seattle today, the Jays are in a virtual tie with the Yanks for the second Wild Cars spot, 0.5 games up on Seattle, and are tied with the Yanks in second in the AL East, 3 games behind Baltimore.

McCann has been comical at 1B all series long. Although that last play wasn't his fault, it is hard to play 1B as bad as he has.

That was a great all around win. We didn't exactly blow the game open, when we had multiple chances but we were persistent in every inning and it eventually payed off.

Team deserves props after that game. Team looked like a disaster there for a couple weeks, but look like they have stopped the bleeding. Still hoping for playoffs.

Another game where the Jays didn't give up, which is great to see. Ideally they'd have taken something out of that opportunity in the 7th, but they still won, and there is no way for them to end the day out of a playoff position. 7-3 since the All-Star break now, and on to Boston followed by Houston. Time to put a good run together!

Gutsy series win... although the Yankees' did everything the could to hand the game over, the Jays' eventually took advantage of it. Big win, could sense the monkey finally came off the back in the Bronx. Here's hoping we get Lind back for Boston, and maybe Encarnacion in Houston, with Lawrie shortly to follow. Soon the attention will go back to the staff once the offense gets healthy. Here's hoping they keep the momentum rolling.

It will make such a difference when those three are back in the line up. Lawrie's D at 3rd and two very good batters, albeit Lind is terrible against lefties but still.

And the O's are leading 2-1 going into bottom of 8. Been watching this game off and on, and Baltimore is lucky that Seattle hasn't been able to cash in on the ample amount of opportunities. O's run in top of 8 was an infield hit with bases loaded, between 3rd and SS, and Seagar didn't go back to his base, forcing an off-balanced throw to Cano (which drug him off the base). Stupid baseball is stupid.

Nolan Reimold being activated from DL is huge for the Jays against LHP as well. With him and Lind back, the offense all of a sudden becomes not embarrassingly bad on paper.

Watching the sports news for the day and seeing the latest flare up in the Red Sox-Rays rivalry after David Ortiz's HR last night and it just made me think of how nice it is to get wound up watching a team playing meaningful baseball at this point in the season. It's so nice not to be getting wound up over someone's actions in a meaningless game between two teams well out of the playoff picture.
