Yeah, that's what we said about Baertschi and Erickson. Let's stick with what's been working for us.
Unfortunately, all the Canadians that are in the 10-20 range are kind of meh comparatively.
Jeremy Roy and Barzal are the only decent ones. Barzal should be gone though by 15 and Roy would be a real reach (ranked 21st by CSS and will likely go around 22-25)

I read somewhere that the Flames are very interested in Harkins - I think he would be a good fit if he's available.
That would be great cause I have a game used Todd Harkins jersey that I've never worn.

Cool, trade down, take Roy and pick up another 2nd rounder.

Yeah, like our previous HOF-worthy Canadian 1st round selections such as Nemisz, Chucko, Pelech, Irving, Kobasew, Krahn, Fata, Dingman, Gauthier etc.
Having a Canadian is nice, but country of origin should be about the 5-6th thing you even look at when drafting. I think the only time it should really sway your decision is when your looking at selecting a Russian.

A tall and lanky center with superb offensive instincts and a good all-around game. Skates very well for his size, and his acceleration is remarkable; his lower body strength generates a lot of power with respect to his mobility. Possesses an absolutely wicked release to his shot, as well as good hands around the net. Has shown some signs of creativity in playmaking; when he plays his game simply, hard on the forecheck, getting into prime-time scoring areas, he can be a very difficult player to contain. Defensively active in his own end - uses his long reach to knock pucks off opponents' sticks, and isn't afraid to hound and hit; able to quickly transition from defense to offense and move the puck out using his speed. All-in-all, a big-bodied, number-generating forward that has the skill and size to be a force at both ends of the ice. (Curtis Joe, EP 2015)

Looks like he could be a decent pick, but with a scouting report like that, why is he ranked so low? I'd think a 6'4 guy with "superb offensive instincts" and a good all around game would be projected to go higher than a mid 2nd. What are his weaknesses?

My guesses would be that his numbers don't match those of the forwards in the first round, and probably has his inconsistencies ("When he plays the game simply.."). Sounds like he could be a more of a project, and maybe the qualities listed in the scouting report are ones that he shows flashes of but hasn't put it together consistently. Again, just guessing.
How is a guy with all those qualities, at that size, not ranked higher?

He sounds like a bigger Emile Poirier.
