Vasek pulled a Milos! Not the kind of confidence you want heading into Davis Cup. Hopefully he can make a good run with Nester in doubles to get some swag back
I would play Dancevic in Davis Cup now and let Pospisil just play doubles with Nestor. A possible Tipsarevic-Dancevic 5th rubber? Dancevic can blow him off the court. Pospisil would wilt under that type of pressure on the road.

looks like 12 and sounds like 8...with the glasses she could be Steve Urkel's little sister. but if her game is that big already, she could join Sloane Stephens in the next batch of American threats, assuming continued maturation.
then again, Stosur isn't known for being a pillar of mental strength. I'm still amazed she owns one of these USO trophies.
Pam Shriver made it sound like there was a miscommunication during the tiebreaker and Pospisil got ripped off and the crowd was booing after the match. Rough.

I believe there was a controversial overrule at 10-10 which would given Vasek his 8th match point (which he would have choked)

Andy Murray will win it again and take over the #1 spot
He can't do that. Murray has to win just to defend his points. He cant actually move up. Even if Murray won and Djokovic lost in the second round, the Serbian would still be over 1000 points up on Murray. Murray can't even pass Nadal this week.
Also, bad week for the ATP website to run a feature story on how Vasek Pospisil is "ready to rise up the Emirates ATP Rankings."

Yikes, didn't see that - I think it's pretty clear that he's still not over that loss to Raonic in Montreal. I agree with others who have said that some time with a sports psychologist would definitely help.
I don't think it is that he isn't over the loss so much as he isn't quite ready to live up to the sudden increase in expectations following Montreal. This was, after all, only his fifth appearance in the main draw of a major, and he's got only two match wins. Gotta learn to deal with the pressure of being the favourite.

He will still be #1 to me

well you said he'd reach #1 after winning this tournament, but not how long after. so if it happens next year then your declaration is still valid technically.
however in order to do that Andy's got to make more of a dent in the clay season. it's only 2 months long, but has a major and 3 masters in it (along with a smattering of 500 level events). that's potentially 5000-6000 points up for grabs, which is about half of what you need to be #1, compressed into a very short time frame compared to the rest of the calendar year.
those 5000+ points perennially belong to Nadal, which is why he was able to take 8 months off and not drop below 5th. I haven't watched enough of Murray on clay to know why he's not so good on it, but he should have all the raw tools to become at least as good as Djokovic on dirt.
