Gerry Cheevers in his WHA exile. That mask totally gives it away (this is hands down the greatest goalie mask ever).

The Cleveland Crusaders were originally going to be the Calgary Broncos, but ownership problems had them relocate to Cleveland.

Murray Edwards wasn't even around to cause problems! I agree with your assessment of the Gerry Cheevers Mask so much originality to it.

it's the simplicity of it that makes it so effective. It's something that a kid could draw, but it speaks volumes about the dangers of the game and the position. A couple of years back The Hockey News ran a poll on "best goalie mask" and Cheevers' won by HUGE margin.
