^^^ Yeah the TRUMP logo at the bottom with his twitter handle leads me to believe that is somehow connected to his campaign.

On a side note, I really can't get over the amount of time (and obviously money) spent on the US election campaigns. The main candidates have basically been campaigning since the end of the 2012 election. Aren't the voters concerned about their politicians actually, you know, doing their work? It's infuriating as a outsider I can't imagine what some of the people there think of it.

Does it matter? The Primary is 4 months away still. Rudy Guiliani was ahead by quite a bit in 2008 and that obviously mattered very little. Trump's negatives are why he's ultimately going to lose, the #1 thing Republicans want in a candidate is electability. He can't even get Megyn Kelly out of his head.

Who cares what language the Mexicans speak? They're Mexican.

Also ironic that he doesn't mind people speaking another immigrant language....English.

Get that redcoat talk out of your country, Trump! They're taking over! I assume you are well versed in Na###o and many other NATIVE American dialects.

Trump is showing that if you oppose him (in Kelly's case, asking offensive even if true statements leading into a loaded question meant to torpedo his candidacy) he will act like a dog with a bone and not let go. He's showing everyone else they can engage him negatively at their own peril.

The Trump candidacy is capitalizing on the US disillusionment of the political class. Look at what Obama represented as a turning point in US politics, then consider what actually transpired... from "Hope" to "Nope".

Trump is a world class jackass. I don't like him, but I'm enjoying the rejection of the traditional candidates. The means will justify the ends in this case, Trump is actually helping. He is injecting into the race everything we all know is wrong in US politics, and there will be a huge fallout as a result. The candidate who emerges will need to grasp action as a key element of their campaign, not mere promises or ideals.

Note couldn't read the article as I somehow passed my quota despite not ever recalling viewing other articles...

I think the candidates do a good enough job of it on on their own with their often racist (or racist sounding) platforms, their dismissal of racial issues in the country (which truly do exist and are indeed an issue), their constant hammering on womens issues long since decided by the courts, their constant opposition to gay rights (again even after decided by the courts), their constant science denials etc etc. More and more they skew to older middle age white guys with lower and lower education levels.

This is a party that well before Fox was Fox were steadily losing the votes of women and minorities. And given the changing demographics it was going to lead to these things.

That isn't to say the conservative media hasn't hurt them as it has. The candidates feel the need to suckle at the teats of the likes of Fox and the Koch brothers. I'm sure the similar things happen on the other side of the aisle but it isn't nearly so overt as it is in the GOP. The ONLY thing you can say for Trump is he isn't beholden to that...on the other hand he acts like a petulant toddler who does not have the maturity to handle much of anything of consequence.

The article points out more how badly the Republican candidates get called out for any slight step toward the middle as opposed to the left. Inevitably then, the more and more extreme candidates win nominations that can never win the middle votes

This is exactly why I'm expecting a landslide win for whomever the Dem is, like a double digit win.

You now have the most electable guy in Bush talking about anchor babies. Bye-bye latino vote, and Asians too apparently. The two other more electable Republicans in Scott Walker and Rand Paul have also fallen by the way side, so now you're left win Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz maybe as alternates? Cruz won't win because he's nuts, Fiorina will get destroyed because she was inept at HP, and Carson won't get the vote because the openly racist elements in the Republican party won't vote for a black man for president.

The Republicans are pretty much screwed.

I take a small amount of solace that apparently no one thinks Rick Santorum should be president.

I need all the positive thinking I can get down here.

United States seems to be working really hard to become a true idiocracy.

Number 1: We've got this guy Not Sure Donald Trump. Number 2: He's got a higher IQ a bigger loudmouth than ANY MAN ALIVE. and Number 3: He's going to fix EVERYTHING."

Even the Fox news pollster Luntz says his legs were shaking after doing another focus group of past and present supporters of Trump.

But for me his supporters always reminds me of this:

Oh and he has a -51 net approval rating with Hispanics and you'd think a very similar number with women. The Republicans lost the last election offending women and minorities away from the party, and now their current leader might be their biggest minority/women offender ever. Amazing they're destined to hand the Democrats another election.
From the PPP link:

Quote:
Trump's advantage over the Republican field is thorough. He leads with Tea Party voters (44%), men (39%), independents (36%), conservatives (36%), voters who are most concerned about electability (35%), both younger voters and seniors (at 34% with each), evangelicals (32%), women (30%), and moderates (29%). Trump has a 56/32 favorability rating and he also leads when you match him with the other Republican hopefuls head to head- it's 47/39 over Ben Carson, 53/35 over Scott Walker, 53/34 over Marco Rubio, and 56/33 over Jeb Bush.
Remarkable really...
