That last matchday is going to be wild. Lots of possible matchups.

The Colombian strip is pretty. Better than the Swedes yesterday

First match I’ve caught live this year with John Helm. What a treat, what a legend. 10th World Cup I think..82 was his first, called the Soviet Union Brazil game.

The Poles are really disappointing this tournament. I didn't expect them to win against Colombia but they should have had a chance of making the elimination round. Losing to Senegal was brutal. Better luck next time Poland.

Can we just talk about those passes by the Colombians, especially the James pass on the 3rd? Good gravy.

That was a brutal match. I think Poland got 1 shot on target? Maybe 2? They know that if they dont win they're eliminated right? Lewy looked like the only one trying.
Just awful stuff to watch. What happened to the team we saw in qualifying?

Lewandoski's all they got. They're alot like South Korea where Son is their only player that's of any quality and the rest of the players of both Poland and South Korea are low quality garbage.

yeah, not a good team. Lewandowski couldn't carry them if he was even half as good as some people think he is.

Its games like this that get people kind of bitter that Italy and Holland arent there.
They're not a great team, but other teams can find success with only one superstar, you just have to be disciplined and defensively sound.
That game was like Lewandowski and 10 random dudes they just picked out of the crowd.
There was no plan, no strategy, it was like a Sunday morning kickabout team.

I'll graciously ignore the fact that IMO Lewandowski is not a superstar and just point to the position. Even the best central strikers can do jack when they don't get any help ... guys like Ibrahimovic could never do anything with the national team either. A striker needs service.

Korea is different. Son is on the wing and Ki is a great midfielder. They have played well against two good opponents while creating chances. It's a plan at least.
Poland had no ideas going forward.

Only partially agree. Yes, South Korea played well for them in their loss against Mexico and definitely had some better quality there, but they were dreadful with the ball in their 1st match against Sweden. They could barely even put more than 2 basic passes together most of the time against Sweden even when under no pressure.
So even though Korea were trying to make something happen offensively against Sweden, their offensive quality whether it was crosses, passes or corners was absolute piss poor for almost that entire match.

The biggest surprise for me so far has been Japan. Before the tournament they were struggling to score and falling down the rankings but now look like the best team in Asian and are on the verge of the next round.
