****tification is annoying... Youtube detecting that there's an adblocker installed and sabotaging its own website is quite a move.

Had a tooth pulled instead of a root canal as the dentist advised a root canal might have to be done by an oral surgeon. Easy enough I will just get an implant. After an hour of trying to remove the tooth all but one root was out and he said he couldn't remove it as it was too close the the sinus cavity and I had to go to the Oral Surgeon . . .

So they send a referral and here I am a week later and I have a consult tomorrow with no idea when I'm getting in to get this fixed. Its been a painful week especially when they don't even offer any type of pain killer anymore.

Speaking of lightbulbs, does anyone have a good solution for garage door opener bulbs? It seems like the male part on most newer bulbs doesn't go deep enough to make a good connection or something (I've wiped out the socket but haven't put any other thought into it beyond just trying a bunch of different bulbs...but many don't seem to work for long without tightening)

That sounds more like a problem with your socket. Unplug it, and using a pick get under the metal tab and try to pry it up a bit. It may also just be corroded, so some sand paper could clean up the connection.

This makes sense. I never really have a chance to actually look from a real ladder without my kiddos either trying to kill me or themselves by climbing up, too. Hence my half-assed and half-brained approach to any problem like this

Are you even a real man if you’ve never worked on electrical wiring while it’s live?

A real man thinks they've shut the power off, but finds out the hard way that that one receptacle in the bedroom is fed off a completely different circuit.

I've zrted myself several times. Always make sure your no-contact tester works before assuming you turned the power off to the right circuit when it doesn't chirp at you.

Or that the power supply you pick up has a bottom plate on it, not just an exposed circuit board with highly charged capacitors(#### you, HP).

That sucks. They should have called the oral surgeon right when they realized they couldn’t complete the extraction. Might have been able to get you in right away. Tell the oral surgeon tomorrow you have been in significant discomfort for a week …. hopefully they finish it tomorrow for you.

I've got some whiskey and a pair of plyers...what are you up to in the next hour or so?

We can sort this out. And I abide by the Dental Fee guide...as long as you pay cash and tell no one.

Hey Walmart,

F you and your self checkouts. You got 3 employees watching customers like prison guards. You have cameras and screens showing customers you are recording them. The checkout system locks up and waits for an employee if it thinks you are pretending to scan something and bag it.

If you are going to treat all your customers as if they are convicted criminals then don't do self checkout.
