Casey Affleck would be awesome. The finale is going to have to be something incredible for this season to be salvaged in my mind.

This has been the worst season of Dexter so far, but its still Dexter which is better than 90% of TV on a good day.

Travis is too much a little wimp for my liking and the whole Geller is all in his head storyline is just bogus.

Deb is going to factor into this finale somehow. Hope they don't toast her character because of the whole Michael C Hall divorce.

Hope Dexter gives him a beating

maybe with all this extra "loving" debra is realizing for dexter this season, it's foreshadowing that she finds out about some level of dexter's 'dark passenger' in the finale??

Yes.

First some of you guys are waaaayyyy overreacting about the deb/dex storyline. There has been no incest and hardly a storyline to speak of. One scene with her therapist. One scene that was a friggin dream!

It does explain deb's Choice of men, call it daddy/brother issues. Girls pick guys like their dad. Dex is like Harry. Now I agree it is silly that a non-related brother and sister would hook up. But that's the thing, no one including the show is suggesting that. All it is suggesting is that deb has man issues and seems to want a guy like dex.

It sets up perfectly for her to start to find out who dex really is. First they establish that she really loves him (almost too much) then bam! That is tested by having her find out he is a monster. Or something close to it. Finds out a bit maybe. Like perhaps she finds the vid that dex sent Travis on his phone and gets an idea that there is more to dex. Maybe not full serial killer but something dark.

On a somewhat related note my perfect ending to dexter came up the other day. Similar to that scene in season 5 where she almost caught him I think the perfect ending is deb walks in on dex in the kill room with a super badie. Someone who maybe kills Quinn or something to get her real pissed off. Final scene of the series is deb catches dex and is both disgusted but fascinated that she knows why he's distant. Deb also learns he only kills bad guys. With police cars rushing to the scene she has to make a choice. Cover it up or kill him because he's never gonna get arrested. At that moment we see her finger on the trigger in a close up. Screen goes black end of series. Gives me chills just thinking about it. Inception/sopranos ending that would be talked about for years to come. Did she or didn't she?

Maybe we even hear the shot and are left to wonder if she shot the bad guy to help cover up or dex.

That would even work for a season finale cliffhanger and then we find out who she shot the following season.

Never knew this board was full of drama queens.

The best season yet is Season 4. John Lithgow aka Trinity Killer, what a great role.

So does that make up for a pretty brutal season?

That was pretty cool. Didn't think we'd get to this place with 2 full seasons left.

No don't think it made up for it, this season has been so boring.. with awful storylines. Even this episode was bad until the final 10 minutes.

Count me in the group that thought that would've taken longer. Even in my post last week I only speculated that this would be set up for a reveal next year.

Much like many others, I really wasn't a fan of the whole religious theme throughout the season as it seemed to grow rather tiresome... But I absolutely loved the final line of the season! "Oh God!", I thought that was fantastic!

Yeah, that scene is still pretty good without that line, but with it, makes it so much better.
