We need to start drafting more Pospisils. Here's a player (pest) with a certain set of tools that seems to be desired by the entire damn league; seems like everyone wants him. Can't score much, but holy crap does agitate and piss off other teams.
And fast!

I think it would have to be 18 and not 32 in that scenario.
Andersson + 18 + Pospisil (???)
For
Byram + 9
That actually could make sense for both sides
I understand Conroy is interested in trading up in this draft, but what about Konsta Helenius instead of the 9 pick. Meets a center need for the Flames, not sure many of the center picks have a ton more upside than Helenius.

I think people need to look past Buffalo and shift to Boston. Seravelli hinted at Flames moving up and Boston moving down. Boston holds the 7th overall pick. If I'm Conroy I'm trying to pry the 7th away from Boston without including Andersson, who I'm not even sure is a target for Boston.
Out:
18th + 32nd + ??
In:
7th
Then move to San Jose.
Out:
7th + Andersson + ??
In:
2nd
Flames select Misa. He starts on the Flames next year with teammate and friend Parekh. His brother tears it up at Penn State and joins the team the following year. Conroy accomplishes more in 2 seasons than other GM's have, ever.
Bonus for fun - McKenna choose Penn State over Michigan. Vegas crumbles next year and in 2026/2027 McKenna joins his Penn State teammate Luke Misa on the Flames.

Keep the gifs coming sec, it’s been so crazy I’m getting very small responses and have been told it could be a busy next 24h.
Craig is the most aggressive GM in moving up (as I’ve said so I know repeating myself) but he has more than 1 firm offer in to move up as we speak. It’s believed that one includes a Rasmus as part of the package and another that doesn’t. One option would be preferred ahead of the draft while the other likely gets done on draft day depending how the chips fall with the first handful of picks.
I said it previously but can confirm that Rasmus is the #1 RHD on the market, even if Ekblad is available (don’t think so) but there’s more interest in Andersson right now anyway. There’s a LOT of teams wanting him, with some looking at 50% retention for this year but still comes down to extension.
Theres also been tires kicked on Coleman, Sharky and surprise to nobody Kadri, but again he’s not been made available by Calgary.
I do get a sense that Calgary WILL get into the top 10 it’s just a matter of when.
All hands on deck for the next 48hours+
I’ve been told Calgary is the most active, but we know Craig loves to talk

I'd take Helenius in a heartbeat of he was offered up.

I think people are still undervaluing Andersson's value, especially if rumours are true and Ekblad re-ups here with Florida in short order.
He'll be the #1 defenseman target for teams this offseason once Ekblad signs wherever he signs (not including Dobson, who's not officially on the block yet) and with multiple teams looking for help, his value should be sky high.
Looking at the Buffalo trade possibility and how their players are at their lowest value, I think it'd be an overpayment to go Raz + 18 for 9 + Byram, especially with the potential to get better deals from other suitors.
Raz + 32 for 9 + Byram would be more appropriate value in a seller's market like this.
Hypothetical. If Calgary could pull off getting the 2OA and drafting Misa, we'd be set with a potential 1st line centre, #1 defenceman, and #1 goalie. We still have two first rounders to come in 2026.
Conroy's interview convinced me the Flames will check in on Marner. If they did get Misa somehow, would this change people's comfort levels with going after an elite winger like Marner (assuming he could be convinced to come, as unlikely as that may be)?

I will say that I think Buffalo would love Andersson but there’s almost 0% chance he re-signs and that effectively removes a large chunk of his value.
Misa is who Calgary would take 1st OA and I believe they will exhaust all options outside of Wolf/Parekh to get him. Just not sure it happens, depends who SJ wants with #2.
