Agreed, but I think the contact/no contact is important in determining whether or not VAR can step in.

English are always too good, too proper to be devious or slimy, yet the land of 15 tabloids.

I hope they start clamping on diving in the sport. Fines (and suspensions for repeat offenders) for most blatant dives/simulations need to be handed out. This part of such a beautiful sport really sullies it for me. I was supporting England today and am on their bandwagon for the finals as well, but that win just feels dirty.
Sterling had dived just a few minutes before that as well on the edge of the penalty box.
Great show by Denmark in the whole completion though. And England deserved the win with the way played for most of the game.

England should be concerned with Pickford. He looked completely rattled in that game.

Isn't the complaint about Italy more about their faking of injuries to kill time instead of diving?

Diving, faking injuries, and whining to the ref every call against them: the Italian trifecta.

What happened after that was irrelevant then.
I don't think this is correct. The was a VAR check so they were looking at the incident in the box.

I’m very proud of how the Danes fared at this tournament and not too upset at yesterday’s result. A day after reading about their fans behavior including the laser pointer on Schmeigel’s face during the PK and looking again at the call that led to the PK, I’m a little saltier. Too bad, a couple of my english friends were very good natured about the game but they seem to be the exception.

Agreed, that is abhorrent.
This morning UEFA filed charges against England.

UEFA should make them play the final in an empty stadium. After the massive spike in COVID cases, it would probably be for the best anyways.
Plus, it would be hilarious. First final in 6 decades, at home no less, and no fans allowed.

But....what about the riots when they lose tho?

When have there ever been riots in the actual stadium? Usually it's as secure as it gets, the riots will spill over into other nearby, less policed areas.

A fan reduction should occur, but UEFA’s greed will win out.
It’ll likely be a monetary penalty.
