Barry still getting people is kinda amazing. I mean yeah he makes his profile pic Adam Schefter's or SportsCenter, but the handle is UltraWeedHater...always check the handle before the pic.

Random thought but.....kinda odd for a reporter, especially an official NFL reporter, to be saying "A long time coming and well deserved".

Yeah kind of weird. Adams is an interesting player as he's very versatile but a liability in pass coverage. Seems weird that the highest paid safety in the league isn't a very good in pass coverage.

Is he really a liability in pass coverage? I only really paid attention to him with Seattle last year and my impression was that he was clearly better pressuring (obviously, he's better at that than just about any safety) but that he was more or less fine in coverage. Is there some analysis of that I could read?

EDIT: A bit of googling suggests that at least according to PFF's standards he was mediocre to bad... bit of a surprise, honestly. My eye test didn't see him as standing out in that way. Well, I guess we'll see how it goes in year 2...

Jameis Winston throwing darts out there today. And WR Marquez Callaway will be the breakout Saint of the season.

I mean we all saw this coming, but still pretty embarrassing for Drew (and makes passing on Fields even worse)

I think the Broncos could be a sleeper team in the AFC this season. Their defense looks very good and if Teddy can be a solid game manager for them they could sneak in for a wild card.

Any predictions as it relates to the rookie QB’s this year?

I’ve only watched Wilson and Lawrence, with a few highlights of Lance and Fields.

Wilson has looked pretty good (albeit in preseason). Strong, accurate throws, and a lot of poise in the pocket. Lawrence is stuck behind a terrible O-Line, but you can see the talent with his ability to buy time and make throws downfield. So smooth and polished moving in and out of the pocket despite his size.

I think Fields will be better than Wilson, but the Bears are a complete ####show. When you're signing the corpse of Jason Peters to steady the offensive line issues, your probably gonna have a bad time.

I don't think any rookie QB is going to stand out as having a great season. The Chargers had a solid team around Herbert and the Jags and Jets are junk and the Bears are the Bears and it sounds like they are going to ride Dalton until the wheels fall off there. Lance may play a bit depending on health of Garappolo.

^^ Which is too bad because I think Lawrence has the talent and ability to be a legit NFL star... but with his situation and the people around him, it's not going to happen this year. Although I guess even Troy Aikman (1-15) and Peyton Manning (3-13) were able to overcome rough rookie seasons.

Fields and Lance are probably guys who would benefit from not being thrown into the fire right away.

Mac Jones in NE is an interesting situation as well with Newton being out now due to Covid protocols.

Unfortunately it looks like Lawrence has landed in maybe the only place worse than the Jets as Meyer looks like he may be a disaster. He's used to coaching the stacked team facing inferior opposition and now he's on the other side of the fence.

I am sure he will resign due to medical issues soon enough.

Learned something funny today. Texans employees call Cal McNair “Tommy Boy” behind his back.

Good. Now fire Flacco into the sun. They could also leave him in a shallow ditch somewhere that’s fine. Maybe send him out on a small raft into the Atlantic that’s cool too.
