We can't chase them all. But getting Alex and Marken back would be a huge talent boost.

First stop, practice squad spots after all cuts tomorrow, if they want to keep the dream alive.
Or option of someone else brings them in for a look or their practice squad.
Then NFL Week 1 injuries or other changing situations are only 9 days away.
Xfl ready to pounce after that.
For Singleton, 15 tackles in a game is 15 tackles. He'd get another look just for that. He best wait it out and see what happens in the next couple weeks.

Is XFL before the CFL in the line of stops, though? Are they paying more? And if it was, couldn't he sign with Calgary, play the full season until November and still have plenty of time to sign with an XFL team for February?

This article about Singleton was posted prior to cuts being announced:

But the NFL kept beckoning, and as much as he loves playing in Canada —#his mother was born in Toronto and he has dual citizenship —#this is where he wants to be.
If it doesn’t work out?
“I guess I’m one of the few people (who played Thursady night) that knows I’ll be playing football this year,” he said. “If no one does sign me, there’s nine teams in the CFL that I think would love to have me, and I know one, especially Calgary, would really enjoy having me back, so to have that is very special. To have a whole country behind you and supporting you and if things don’t work out welcoming you back.“

Sounds like he had an outstanding pre-season and that there was nothing more he could have done.
Feel terrible for him. Great guy.

Yeah, it was highly questionable going with a bunch of first year coaches including a first year head coach, but the talent level of the Lions is just not on par with other teams in the CFL. That falls on the general manager.

I’d love to see Singleton succeed in the nfl, and not just to keep the Stamps from getting him. I always like to see CFL standouts in the NFL.
I hated Flutie, Garcia, Wake etc in the CFL but love it when they do well down south.

Showing my age, but did not like the way Warren Moon dominated the Stamps when he was playing for the Eskimos, but I was a big fan of him in the NFL.

Looking back it really blows my mind that we had 3 straight starting QBs in Calgary (Flutie, Garcia, Dickenson) who were able to stick in the NFL, although Dickenson didn't do quite as well as the other two and was back in Canada after a couple of years. AS a kid at the time I remember thinking how unfair it was that the NFL kept stealing our best players, and I have carried that resentment forward to this day even though it's much rarer these days.

Wasn't it 4? Burris was with the Bears and definitely played more than Dickenson who held a clipboard for his NFL stint.

I remember I got Madden the year that Burris was with the Packers, and he had the lowest QB rating that I'd ever seen and I tried playing him and it was awful.

You're right, but Burris played the 2000 season in Saskatchewan so I didn't count him at the time.

A positive story for the Argos and the league...hopefully gives the young man a boost in his battle...

The Toronto Argonauts announced Thursday that the football club has signed seven-year-old National running back Darius Raso to a one-day contract. Raso will attend team meetings in the morning to get acquainted with his new teammates before taking part in his first Double Blue practice in the afternoon at Lamport Stadium. Monday, September 1st will then see Raso play in his first Labour Day Classic vs the rival Hamilton Tiger-Cats from Tim Hortons Field.
“We are thrilled to add a player of Raso’s stature to our roster,” said Argonauts General Manager Jim Popp. “Raso’s determination, strength and love for football and the Toronto Argonauts are an inspiration to us all and we know he will be a tremendous asset both in the locker room and on the field.”
