Just had a cab pull up to myself and my wife (light on), roll his window down and ask us where we were going, did not like the location and drive away leaving us on the side of the road. Man I'm sick of these ####ers. Will be reporting tommorow. Cab #1072 Calgary Cab Company.
I'm not saying this is the way it went down but while his light is on he could be going to pick up a trip he's been dispatched to. If you're going the same way as the address he's going to, he might consider taking you before hand. He shouldn't be doing this but it happens or he could be just a jerk.

I used to work at the airport for one of the cab companies. Some customers would ask me "how much would it be to go to ...."
When I asked the drivers, sometimes they would be reluctant to take the passenger because their destination is close by and not worth their time. So I wouldn't be surprised if the driver TheAlpineOracle is talking about did what he did for the same reason.

Oh yeah I've seen that go down at the airport and I guess the practise has spread. I was pointing out that because the Taxi light is on, doesn't mean he hasn't been booked. You'll also notice that I said that he could just be a jerk.

I slapped my brain and started walking to downtown to get a cab, but I'm sure many people who are in a more borderline state say screw it and drive.

We tried to get a checker cab at 5pm on saturday night, waited for 30 minutes and finally decided to drive (we were sober, this was the beginning of our night). Not a big deal, I just didn't drink that evening but it's ridiculous that I was late for dinner because I couldn't get a taxi. #### TAXIS.

It was determined that the 'Thanks Button' was non-compliant with several Civic and Provincial By-Laws in regards to 'butthurt insurance' claims.

Had the same thing happen on Sunday afternoon. My friend used the app to book a cab. We watched for 25 minutes on the tracker as the cab (which started about 1.5k away) circled the neighbourhood around her house, got lost, circled again, and ended up further away than when it started. I told my friend to cancel, but she didn't want to get blacklisted by the company. So after 10 minutes of trying to get through to the dispatcher, she found out the driver got frustrated trying to find the place and cancelled the ride. Without telling us.
