Sitting at 10 strange coins...
Will reciprocate with some crucible carrying

Should I get a Helm of Saint-14 as well? I do prefer to run as a defender over a striker....

Yes.
Saint-14 is a must have for us Titan folk.

I think the Helm of Saint works the best with the defender (Bubble dude).

But if you're running hm crota raid, skullfort is good for orb health regeneration.

Activating a bubble with Blessings of Light will regenerate your health. For the crystal room, I go with Saint-14 or Glasshouse. But generally I'll go with Saint-14 to blind those occasional errant knights that run into the room.
I don't even bother with Ruin Wings in the crystal room. Heavy ammo bug generates more than enough, and the Wings proc are too random with a rocket launcher.

Good point. I always forget blessing does that.
My hunter is my main, so I forget about some titan/warlock abilities.

I've got every piece of exotic gear for Titan. The Saint is situational, at best. It's great in certain scenarios. Ruin Wings are great in any encounter. The more heavy I can use, the faster things die.

I've heard the exact opposite from just about every guide and person I've talked to, but you've played longer than I, so as far as first hand info goes I have to take your word for it.

Destiny - Coming Sept.9
Let's put it this way, the blind bubble is only helpful if you're getting up close and personal. Or you can stay back and blast them with rockets and not worry if they can see you or not.

From a team lay out point of view, that's what hunter and warlocks are for. Titans are SUPPOSED to be in your face.

That's only assuming that Ruin Wings are a constant in their benefit. I find that they're inconsistent in itself. Sometimes it'll be raining purple bricks and other times I'll be left wondering if I've even equipped it.
Saint 14 means your bubble is an area of absolute denial. Reviving, punch fests, and almost turns the bubble into an offensive weapon. Don't know why people like it so much in PvP though.
For those who don't know, having a special weapon with Surplus means extra ammo from each brick for primary, special and heavy. A decent substitute for Ruin Wings.

Hopefully once I get my FWC gear I can start to raid a bit to pick up some of the better weapons.

Wait wait what?
In my experience discipline is the single most useless stat for a blade dancer. Intellect and strength maxed is how I run my hunter, I don't have a single piece of gear with discipline.
Strength = Blink strike
Discipline = ####ty hunter grenade

On the Saint-14 topic I absolutely love mine, I went from the occasional orb here and there to being about to toss out 5-8 of them every enemy encounter. For me it is the most useful piece of gear for my titan but that's because I love defender, those striker titan will find the helmet useless.

I second the saint helmet, love it. Although I like defender more then striker.
With the helmet, and then have ward of dawn make orbs when under fire, then have your melee make orbs when you kill someone while force barrier is active... orbs orbs for everyone. In the abyss throw that bitch up on the plate with another titan wearing the same helmet and the rushing thrall don't have a chance.
The hunter's grenade isn't that bad. The arcbolt on bladedancer is pretty nice. Especially with this weeks nightfall with the arc burn. Watching it take out 3 tier two enemies with a single grenade made me rethink the effectiveness of it. Also made me like the lucky raspberry chest piece as that thing sends the bolt pretty far out.
My hunter is more strength, but I still have some balance between intellect and discipline.

With blade dancer there is a skill that reduces the cool down of blink strike to virtually nothing - hence strength as a stat is not necessary.
