As for this primary this was Haleys one and only shot, get Trump 1v1 in a favourable state, make it a statistical tie or within a few percent. That may have been enough to turn this into a contest. This thing is done, all that’s left is the date she packs it in and I don’t think she actually makes it to South Carolina. She will get counseled out before taking a 40 point beating there.

It is just the most bizarre human behaviour I have witnessed. Like there is really no parallel to what we are watching. Psychology and poli sci papers are going to be written about this for centuries.
Trump won self-identified Republicans in New Hampshire 74 percent to 25 percent, but Haley won self-identified independents 60 percent to 38 percent. Haley did well in New Hampshire because 43 percent of the Republican primary electorate identified as independent, but this almost certainly won’t be the case in future contests.
Good grief, what a disaster of a country. Never thought I'd ever witness the fall of an empire in my lifetime, but here we are. The fate of U.S. democracy is at stake in November. It's up the electorate now to decide what kind of country they want to be.
I still predict Biden will probably win in the end, but it's basically gonna be a coin flip, which is incredibly sad and disappointing.

When Biden does win (again, it's pretty inconceivable to run a losing candidate again against an incumbent President) I think the far more troubling part is what happens with the heavily armed and brainwashed parts of the population that still believe 2020 was stolen? J6 will happen again, probably in a worse form. That is the scariest part.
IMO democracy is already dead, as is this empire. Historically people almost never realize when their empire has died, but historians looking back peg it. IMO J6 2021 was that day, though in a few hundred years people may argue that Sep 11 2001 and the patriot act was the start of the fall.

The big difference between 06-Jan-2021 and January 2025 is the President in power is different and will ensure proper staffing and use of the National Guard if necessary.
