TSN has Mackenzie, Rogers has Friedman.
Twitter has everyone.

no he is a generational player, isnt that what so many young players are called these days.

Agreed. Somewhere along the line Stone became terribly inflated.

Frank Seravalli was ranting about how Calgary was a deadline loser for not going after Jimmy Howard. Suck it Frank!

On Jay and Dan's podcast, Mackenzie said next year is his last trade deadline.

Saw on The Complete News that the Flames blew Vancouver out of the water with a trade offer for Edler but Edler wouldn't waive to come. He/she never reveals sources so I never know of its Eklund, Friedman or Insiderrrrrr.
I don't believe it but I thought I'd share though.

Agree with you not believing it. This one doesn’t pass the smell test
Expiring contract, but $5 M cap hit (~1M remaining)
I dunno. If they were in it for Stone, this is no plan B. Certainly not a guy you blow a (geographical) rival out of the water for .

Jason Botchford reported the same on TSN 1040 in Vancouver today, for what it's worth.

To be fair, it probably doesn't take much to blow Benning out of the water.

Elliotte Friedman telling SN 650 that the Flames were after Edler at deadline, I知 hearing the Penguins and Blue Jackets as well. The focus now switches to signing Edler, no update on that front.

Of course they would have, but sought after players about to become UFA痴 generally seek contracts which favour them, not the team.
I知 not certain what Calgary fans thought the contract would look like when they dreamed about Calgary trading for a signed Stone.
The term was always going to start with an 8.

News UpdateMichael Russo of The Athletic reveals more information about the Zucker trade:
Quote:
The Athletic and TSN learned Monday afternoon that Zucker was nearly traded to the Calgary Flames. Sources say it would have been for a package that included veteran Michael Frolik and a draft pick. For some unclear reason as of now, the trade fell through at the very last moments before Monday’s 2 p.m. CT trade deadline.
Frolik does have a partial no-trade clause, but The Athletic confirmed Tuesday that the Wild are not on Frolik’s “No” list. So, Calgary could have dealt him with no strings attached. There is a chance that Zucker’s $5.5-million cap hit and the four-year term remaining created an issue for Calgary to take him on.
The only thing clear is Zucker was never officially traded. There was never any email sent to Central Registry, never any trade call.

I would think that deal is dead. Flames were making that trade to get better. Really no point to make it in the offseason now.
