This is the first time I can recall rooting for Adam Vinatieri to make a kick. Go Adam!

Colts win! Colts win!

I hope Shanahan sends a Thanksgiving gift to every member of the Colts organization because that may have just given the Broncos the division.

Stupid Chargers. The Fins really needed the Colts to fall back to 6-5.

You're welcome!!!! I have a feeling it will be Indy @ Denver in the 1st round of the playoffs (with Indy having a better record but Denver getting home field).

Money in the bank = Vinatieri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a clutch kicker. The biggest clutch kicker in NFL history.

7-4 now with the following games remaining:

@ Cleveland
vs Cincinnati
vs Detroit
@ Jacksonville
vs Tennessee

Pretty soft schedule with only the last game vs the Titans being difficult. I could see Indy sweeping the next 5.

It looked tough at 3-4 with games against NE, @ Pittsburgh on the horizon but we won both of those and then beat Houston at home last week and went into SD tonight and won.

Great job Colts!!!!!!!!! I'm so pumped.

Miami was doubtful to make the playoffs already and today it was learned they took a huge hit as their top reciever is out for the season with a knee injury.

Of the next 5 NE has 2 tough games, both at home against ARI and PIT. 3 road games, but should be all wins.

BAL has 3 tough games, 2 at home agains WASH and PIT, 1 on the road against DAL.

Great game by Cassel on the weekend. How oh how do my Broncos lose to Oakland.

I think in the AFC it's down to the Colts, Ravens, and Patriots duking it out for the Wild Card spots. The Ravens and Patriots still have a shot at winning their respective Division so I guess you could add the Jets and Steelers to the mix and suggest that 4 of those 5 teams will be in and one will be left out, with the Colts having one means of getting into the playoffs where the other teams have two as they could win their Division or the Wild Card. Even with that loss yesterday the Bronco's still likley get that Division as the Chargers pretty much have to run the table.

The NFC is still a bit more open as the Cardinals, and Giants have certainly won their Divisions. But the NFC North is down to 3 teams fighting to win that Diviison. The NFC South is still up for grabs between 3 teams and than you have the two teams from that Division and the Cowboys and Red Skins trying to get the Wild Card spots.

The possibility of a all New York Superbowl may just exist. The Giants look like a clear cut favorite to be there, and the Jets have been on a nice roll of late. Although the Colts have been solid lately except for that slip up in Green Bay. The AFC would seem more open in terms of which team could be in the Superbowl. But you never know and thats why they PLAY THE GAME!

I think 1 applies because Indy has swept BAL/NE (they also lead in #2 as well as you mentioned).

Well there is 2 WC spots so technically they have 2 chances. Also, Indy controls their own destiny where NE does not at this point.

Ah true enough.
But this answers your question to why BAL is ahead of NE.

I like the fact that Randy Moss suddenly seems interested in playing. And back to back 400 yeard games has got to be good for Cassel's confidence.

Thanks captain Obvious.....I meant that Indy's way in is a Wild Card berth whereas New England, or Baltimore could either win their Divisoin, or get one of the Wild Card berths.

But just so all the Colt fans don't chastize me....They do hold the edge as they have beaten the other teams head to head, and their remaining schedule does look like they should finish with an 11-5 record or even run the table and go in with a 12-4 record so they will make it. So you can either tatoo it on your arse, carve in stone, or whatever way you choose to mark it down permanantly as having happened. The 2008 Indianapolis Colts will be in the playoffs.

Big game tonight for my Saints. It's funny how the Packers and Saints both have the exact same record, yet the Packers are tied for the North lead with a win, whereas the Saints are way back in dead last in the South. The NFC South is a powerhouse this year, I honestly never saw it coming.

Should be a fun game to watch, the place is gonna be a mad-house, seein as they haven't played at home in 42 days(ridiculous the NFL booked it like that). But I gotta go with the Packers here. Their receivers are just too big, skilled and strong for the Saints secondary, especially with all those injuries. I think A-Rodg is gonna have a huge game tonight. Brees will get his #'s like he always does, but I think he'll still see lots of pressure from the Packers' front seven. Its really too bad Reggie is a no-go tonight, he's the ultimate blitz-beater. When in trouble, just give it to Reggie. I didnt think I'd miss him this much when he went down a month ago, he is a huge part of what the Saints do on offence.

Just too many injuries for the Saints this year, frustrating. Guess it was just our turn.

Saints will pretty much have to run the table to get into the playoffs, which is tough enough when the defence is suspect, but they will likely lose a few players to suspension next week. Would sure be nice to see them mount a late season run, that offence would be a handful for any division winner.
