Or Chicago… since they seem hell bent on making Kane and Toews waive their NMC’s.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Toews and Kane.

Both will likely bring in a haul at the deadline as rentals, especially Kane as his production hasn't slipped. Toews production has slipped, but he'll still carry that two way C, multiple cup winning, captain serious rep with him and contenders will want to add that at the deadline for sure.

It’ll never happen but if Johnny does end up staying if the flames find themselves in a position to add a retained Patty Kane to play with Johnny that would be so much fun to watch. Again it’ll never happen but a man can dream lol.

I doubt that the Flames would have the draft capital, as he will go for quite a bit, as long as he's still producing.

But it would be great to see.

I would expect the rangers to make a push, because it might be one of the few places Kane would waive to, and they would have the pieces to make it happen.

Perhaps if Towes looks fine this year, he'd be a good fit as 2nd line centre at he deadline..

I think you'd have to almost guarantee Kane a finals appearance. In other words, it'd have to be a team like the Avs. Otherwise, just ride out the season and head to UFA, pick your spot.

I could see Kane waving for any number of contenders at the deadline next season. Especially the Rangers.

Then he still gets to go UFA and pick his spot after getting a legit shot at cup #4.

E. Kane's value is tough to figure. Some teams are probably 'do not sign', but I imagine some don't much care about the character issues. Kane will go to the highest bidder, one would assume. I think someone will offer more than $4.5, but who knows. Maybe Carolina?

If the coilers lose Kane, I would guess they overpay for Kadri or really overpay for Klingberg. Just a guess.

.
Yeah maybe Carolina.

You need the overlap of: teams that don’t care, have cap, and have interest in signing a 30 year old to a mid-long term deal… it’s like 2 or 3 teams. I hope he stays in Edmonton personally.

I'll be surprised if Kane gets less than $5.5/year somewhere.
He's a locker room problem, but he's still an incredibly effective player.

Oilers clearly feel that few teams will offer him 4 years and are banking on him taking security. I imagine 2 x $6 million contracts is the best he may get from other teams. As said above Carolina doesn't seem to mind taking on problem players and he may help them in the short term but seeing they didn't commit long term to DeAngelo I can't see them committing long term to Kane.

If Kane signs for $4.5 mil he will sign shorter than 4 years at his age. 2 years he could play his way into a decent contract in 2 years and still be 33 years old rather than 35
