Groshans is being placed in AA New Hampshire. That means he must have had a very good showing at the alternate site last year, because he's never played higher than low A, and that was just a handful of games two years ago before he got hurt. That is awesome news, Jays must have very high confidence in him for such an aggressive placement.
Also at AA New Hampshire, Austin Martin, Simeon Woods-Richardson, Gabriel Moreno and Otto Lopez.
Interesting that they would go as far as they are on allegations which leads me to believe something more may be to come.
MLB did an external investigation, and after the findings were presented to Manfred, MLB and the Jays completely cut ties with Robbie. You can probably bet he's as guilty as they come, whatever he did.
Sad day. He was my favorite player growing up. Turns out he's not much more than a complete scum bag.
Personally I’m torn on the Robbie Alomar stuff. Baseball is just a sport and if he did commit a crime that serious, there should be repercussions. Part of me, depending on the day says the sport accomplishments should be separated from the off the field wrongdoings. Other days I do think they should draw the line. I have to say this seems like a big move to banish him from the field of excellence but at the end of the day it’s just a sport. For the sake of his name and for the facts to be laid out, I hope he’s charged so there could be something definitive coming from it. Real life is greater than the sport so I’m not losing sleep over him removed from anything sport related but I do wonder where we as a society draw the line with what these rules are. If he stole from a charity would they do the same? Weird. Brings up so many moral situations.
As Jon Oliver says - you draw the line somewhere.
And it seems like where ever that line is, Robbie is on the wrong side of it.
Good athletes do not equal good people. But for stuff like this I say good riddance. You don't get to enjoy those honors anymore because you couldn't help being a sexual pig.
Sucks when the best player in the franchise's history is a piece of garbage.

It’s absolutely the right move. Seeing Alomars name up in the Level of Excellence knowing what the team knows, that he is someone who committed sexual misconduct, would be a daily embarrassment, let alone a sign to any woman who wants to work or enter the Blue Jays stadium that it is not a safe place for them to be. The victim came forward not seeking money or notoriety but just wanted a sexual predator to be held accountable, and this is part of being held accountable for your actions. Being a good human has to count for something, plain and simple.
Well re: Roark. Honestly with the shortened season last year leading to the prorated contract it wasn’t that costly an error for the Blue Jays. Still sucks because this team needs arms.
In fairness to Josh Johnson his arm was basically busted by the time he became a Jay. His final season in Miami he had shoulder inflammation. Then he joins the Jays and he has a triceps issue, then shoulder inflammation again, then forearm tightness, then surgery for bone spurs, then he had tommy john, then he retired.
