Beaten by my own source, if only I bothered to google translate the rest.
Well there's another team that didn't follow concussion protocol. These are NHL rules, no?
I doubt this incident will be used against the team quite the same as the Wideman incident.

Well, here's hoping he is good to go in a week or two.

Not surprised Backlund has a concussion. He got hit hard while his head was down.

Interesting (?) that there are no comments about this as of yet from the Flames media.

Thankfully it was only Sami Lepistö and not an actual NHL calibre defenceman. Maybe he's learnt his lesson and wont skate up centre with his head down.....

Yeah, this kind of thing never happens in the Olympics.

It was a dirty hit to the head.

I don't know what Lepisto is supposed to do in that situation other than lay the body.
I don't think it's a dirty hit.

as much as losing Backs would suck for us, I have to believe Florida is more upset with Ekblad's status...

If you've watched any of these games you'd know there is something on the line or the players wouldn't be trying so hard even in the exhibition games.
If you really look at things like that then not even the Olympics matter.

At least the Olympics actually mean anything. Does anyone really care about the outcome of this tournament? Will anyone even remember it in a few years?
I'm not a fan of the Olympics either, but at least they are relevant.

I just hope Johnny can get out unscathed. Would be a shame to have the Flames season unravel before it even begins.

I've watched more World Cup hockey than I did Sochi olympics hockey.
Don't kid yourself, the Olympics are just as irrelevant, especially with the inclusion of professionals, except you've bought into the advertising that they aren't.

Yes - certainly the players do (which is the most important thing) and most hockey fans

Oh!
And no matter the attendance, sales, injuries, or any other thing that can/might happen or has happened....
I 100% promise you Bettman will say this tournament "was a resounding success and only helps illustrate and grow 'our game'"

I don´t know if this has already been mentioned but given that the WCH already has ´´gimmick´´ teams and Canada dominates everything this century save 2006, what about the idea of icing two team Canadas? I know it´s been discussed before that Canada can ice multiple teams but what about actually doing it? We´re already torn between cheering as Canadians for TNA and Canada, why not a third team? The quality of the tournament would get better and it would provide a great match-up against the other Canadian team. I don´t know what you´d call it though? Canada 2? Discussion fodder....
