Super Sunday is just around the corner and after showing off my prowess picking games last week, I thought that I would give it another shot (don't look back and see how I did )
Arsenal v. Leicester: I think that this should be a close game with Arsenal dominating possession and the Foxes countering. No surprise there I would say, and at the end of the day its a 2-2 draw for Leicester to remain top of the table.
Man City v. Tottenham: Sure I'm biased and you know I'm picking Spurs. But really, City hasn't played well against the other top teams (I think someone posted a graphic here about how few points they have against the top 6). I was lucky enough to be at the reverse fixture at WHL which was a 4-1 win for Spurs, and while I think that awesome, it is probably a little flattering for this week. I will say 2-1 Spurs.
Liverpool v. Aston Villa: I know what you're thinking...what do these teams have to do with Super Sunday? Really I have no idea. Villa remains bottom of the table, but then again they keep finding a way as of late. Liverpool lost to West Ham this week at the 120th minute, and are maybe more in the news for relenting on their ticket price raise. I guess I will say Villa 2-1 and hopefully things tighten up at both the top and bottom of the table.
Let me ask you experts this, the two hand balls by MU, particularly the first one, was that gross refereeing incompetence or just standard munificence for the big club, as in other leagues?

Normal rational fans put it down to human error/gross incompetence.
Then you have the nutjobs that work themselves up into group hysteria to a point where they all genuinely believe in a conspiracy theory. It's like a defence mechanism. Work as a deflection from their own teams incompetence and failure. Also a bit sad and pathetic in that they can't appreciate greatness and give credit where credit is due.

Well, no - in other leagues it's well established that top teams get the benefit of the doubt. I was just wondering if that is a thing in the BPL too, or just a Sothern/Eastern European thing?

I'd be interested in seeing the analysis from an unbiased source to back this up.
The problem is there are too many variables that are out there that are often not taken into consideration. e.g. It is often claimed that the top teams get more penalties and less are given against them yet you never see any consideration that this might be because top teams spend more time in the opponents box and less in their own.
When in fact a simple correlation of penalties given vs time in opponents box might be more telling. The old saying: Statistics are often used much like a drunk uses a lamppost: for support, not illumination.
Unsurprisingly, it may actually have been Newcastle supporters and its NSFW.

I dont get how United dont fire him now, with the EL being the actual reason
he's not working, there's zero chance he's coming back next year, bring in someone as caretaker, or even let Giggs do it, who might give the team an off chance at maybe winning the EL
not that they would be favorites but the other good teams in the pool outside Dortmund (Spurs, Napoli, Villareal, Sevilla, Porto, Bayer etc.) might prioritize the league over the cup
I've thought this numerous times this season already, but it never happened. Highly doubt it does this time.
But yeah, it's either sack him now or keep him until the summer. The next PL fixture vs Arsenal is two weeks away, with two EL games vs Midtjylland and an FA Cup game vs Shrewsbury now coming up ... it'd be the perfect situation to finally make the change.
Warren Joyce would be me choice until the end of the season. He has done extremely well with the U21 team and, in contrast to Giggs, it's not a problem if they hire Mourinho or someone else in the summer and send Joyce back to the U21s. Giggs until the end of the season would undoubtedly cause an uproar after the season either way.

Bringing in a new manager isn't guaranteed to fix things, a caretaker manager less so. I don't think a caretaker manager is going to have better odds of winning the Europa League than the current manager going for broke.

I think in this case it would, the players clearly aren't doing it for LVG
plus it's not like anything is expected for the rest of the season either so there would be no expectations
If he beats his charges, I heard he wants to play for United as they have had players who were Young, Blind and Keane...
