For those that have a 360, and love playing the offline GM mode (like me), I highly recommend you watch this 30 minute video. NHL15 will be worth it, and I can't be more excited after watching this. Pretty much everything that I wanted upgraded in this game (as the guy mentions), they upgraded it. The drafts don't get watered down as the years go by anymore.
-Get better player progression out of draft picks
-Lots of late draft picks that have a better likelihood of cracking the AHL or NHL
-Lots of elite players scoring more points, hitting over 100 points more often rather than seeing the highest scoring forward in the season only hitting around 80-90 points. Defenseman can even hit 60-70 points sometimes too.
This guy goes through a lot to explain how great this GM mode is and how much they've upgraded it. Xbox One players, I really hope you didn't throw out your 360, because NHL15 will be worth it on that console.
The guy is getting overly excited about features that were present in NHL14...

Anyone playing EA access..is there a slider to reduce pass accuracy? I dig the gameplay (playing the demo) but I notice every single pass is tape to tape, even playing on hardcore setting. I think some more missed passes could add some more variety to the gameplay.
i didn't get into the sliders sorry. However, i noted that passing and poke check feel quite a bit different in the game vs the demo, in a good way.
when you play online, it's aboslutely perfect. really forces you to play smart. i am a conservative player in my approach on D, and have yet to lose a game (only played a handful) but with a team with my only nhl'ers are backlund/bouma.
i'm a hockey game fiend and have decided to stick it out with the game. with the lack of modes in the game worth much time, if anyone else is getting the game on xboxone, and plays late evening, drop me a message we could try out an online vs or hut vs after the game releases.

Yeah I think I have to get the game, considering its pretty much one of the few reasons I actually own a console, and I have been enjoying the demo.
I hope the backlash makes EA aggressively support this iteration with patches and tuner sets throughout the year, and knock NHL 16 out of the park. If not, I guess I'm getting ripped off.
Besides I still need a game of puck to play with buddies while having a few beers, so NHL 15 will have to be it.
I usually only play late evening. Xbox live gamertag is Flames1989, any xbox one players feel free to add me.

We will see a price drop if sales are bad. Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of people are aware that many features are absent so sales probably won't take much of a hit.
Most coming in September and October. Obviously they won't satisfy everyone, but glad they are giving the customers something for their money. These updates pretty much have me covered for game modes I usually play.

So NHL 15 has a lot of explaining to do in the week it launches. It must be pointed out that media — including this publication — received advance copies of consumer code for this game on the condition that reviews not run until Tuesday at noon. That's an unusual restriction, considering the general public is playing the game on Xbox One right now and already tearing it to shreds. But I guess that won't count toward NHL 15's Metacritic score on launch day.

Yikes. Given what we already know has been subtracted these planned patched-in items are incredibly underwhelming.
This is going to be an interesting year for the EA NHL team. And by interesting I mean remarkably negative.
EDIT: ^^^ Holy Hanna it's appearing more and more like EA is trying to pull a fast one on the consumers. Pretty upsetting, to say the least.

Also, in reading through that thread, is Rammer being incredibly condescending in half of his responses or is it just my singular interpretation?

GM Draft For the first time in the NHL franchise, you will be put on the clock and feel the pressure like real NHL GM’s. You will now only have 3 minutes to make a draft pick. If the pressure is too much, you can also call timeouts to extend the amount of time you have to make a draft pick or potentially negotiate a trade. You can make trades at any time during the draft. The CPU will also propose trades to each other and the user throughout the draft.
I've missed the last couple years but do they simply mean you're stuck on a timer?...Wow innovative. /s

It seems fairly somewhat reasonable...but the point of "Any recommendations on a solution?" and the further conversation with that user has somewhat short and condescending comments. I know it's sometimes said that those without ideas shouldn't complain...but that's a terrible PR move to argue that one out.
About half his posts to me are just "Thanks for the notice" and are at the same level of the Firefox reports I fill out when it crashes...just notices sent into a void. The rest for me are either the above or him just trying to explain as best he can without divulging secrets. Again though, the one guy he challenges is a bit short tempered and not a great idea when your game is already being torn a new one by fans.
So very little that is missing sling be fixed by end of October. Fantastic. Still can't believe you can ship a gm mode without a draft to begin with. And yes he's a condescending prick in that thread. It's that attitude you see that illustrates this isn't something to do with deadlines and resources but rather to do with arrogance, not caring and perhaps incompetence. And given is not like the gaming industry is unique in deadlines and resources it rings hollow to begin with. It's the way of the world that we have to do projects that satisfy the customer and we never have the resources and time yet get the job done by being innovative or disciplined in approach.
glad to hear that the 3 stars are in and that be a gm we get the draft back..
other things that would really appease me:
- seeing season stats of players in-game (ie. when a player scores, seeing it's their Xth goal of the current season)
- having the minor league mean something in be a gm
i know there's that vid about player progression in previous gen, has there been any word on how well this works in next gen?
