Yes, that is completely comparable to an attempted dirty hit that missed by an inch.

That is how a 7-round prospect gets on the radar. I liked Harrison's play. The check on Baertschi was clean.

I am liking Harrison the more I see him. Could project into a larger Cluterbuck.

Ok, can somebody sum up what happened with the scrimmage for those of us that missed it?

Now I'm wondering if my aunt secretly has balls. Thanks for that.

Harrison was a 6th round pick, FTR.

Speaking of which, kudos to the scout that pushed hard for drafting him. Still early, and just a development camp....but he sure was highly noticeable for a player almost no one had ever heard of before the draft.

Jesus, even the happy prospect camp thread has turned into a whiny pissing match. Don't you guys ever get tired of this?

By the way, Red wins the shootout.

Tim Harrison was targeting Sven every time he was on the ice, and lit him up twice in the first 10 minutes of the game during a scrimmage. Nobody stepped in for our top prospect so Baertschi retaliated (lets face it, he is not a player that can really protect himself against the bigger boys).

I don't blame Harrison for trying to make a name for himself, nor do I blame Baertschi for trying to stick up for himself. With that said he clearly got caught up in the heat of the moment, and made a play that is not in line with his character.

Its not nearly as big of an issue as everyone is making it out to be.

I have nothing against Sven, but he shouldn't be put up on a pedestal when he hasn't proved much of anything since being drafted. Harrison is playing hockey the way he knows how. I agree that the hit by Harrison was clean.

So how which prospects seem borderline nhl ready?

Have to assume: Reinhart, Horak, Johnny hockey, Granlund? Knight...

Does anyone look ready on defence? Haven't heard anything about Wotherspoon...

Lewis, Jooris and Penner looked like good players worthy of a further look among the 11 invitees

I don't like how Sven reacted, but I like that he did react. As I said, nobody else was backing him up.

Now he may be injured. But hey, let's call him a little bitch, right, CP?

Harrison trying to make a name for himself targetting the best guy at camp. If anybody understands what it's like to be keyed on, Sven does, and if he doesn't he better start.

Big deal

Harrison and Kanzig were the two guys that a lot of people seemed to think were wasted picks, but they both were impressive this week. Our scouts have to be feeling good about themselves so far.

He has been really steady. The fact that he hasn't been noticed is an attribute to his defensive game. He looked pretty smooth out there to me. Lets see how he does at the AHL level to start the season. He could be in line for a call up if someone gets hurt but I don't see him making the NHL out of camp.

Man, this was the best CP thread in ...years.

Big thanks to everyone who posted updates.

Also thanks to the usual suspects who stayed on the sidelines without needing to rain on anyones parade.

Was fun to be flames fans just enjoying the moment.

Easy there big fella. We can see your a fan of him. I don't think its such a big deal as your making it out to be. Remember, we're all fans of the team here.
