I suppose when I'm in that situation 99 cents to keep a kid quiet will seem like peanuts. However, have to agree with the above ... I'd imagine by 2 1/2 most kids have developed a pretty good arm.

Haha, supervised of course. The iPhone doesn't leave my hand -- I've seen what he does with his Home Depot tool bench...

I am on wifi now. I can do everything but send email. There should be no difference between wifi, no? I've only used the wifi I found in the condo we're staying in and are checking out today so will find other wifi later.

Interesting rumor for the new iPhone....
http://www.phonenews.com/apple-conso...d-launch-7648/

On a side note, is there any advantages/disadvantages to buying the iPhone from a rogers store vs. one of those generic cellphone places?

You should be fine if you have wifi. I'd reset the phone (hold down the top button and the main button for about 5 seconds).

its because you have to connect to the isp's outgoing mail server. So you need to know who the isp of the wifi is. Same as when you go somewhere with your computer.

The simple answer. No.

There might be a jailbroken app that can do it, but nothing that you'd find on the app store would be able to access the system information about text messages. At least I don't think so.

There are 3rd party text messaging apps available if you jailbreak that probably have that functionality. Google "Cydia" and "SMS" and you should find some info on what's out there.

With the new 3.0 OS you can copy messages one by one (oddly there doesn't seem to be a way to copy multiple messages at once). You can also select multiple messages at once and forward them; so if you had an SMS -> Email service you could do it.

No "good" solution though.

Yeah, doing this with some text recognition software would be your best bet. I don't know of any off hand. Evernote has very good text recognition in my experience but I don't know how to export the text it finds.

Sorry, haven't read the whole 63 page thread, but has anyone else experienced crackling in their earpiece? Just started recently for me. I also noticed that when I turn up the ringer and try a new ringtone, I get some distortion.

Is my speaker hooped? Other issue?

Assuming you're in calgary I would take it to the Apple store this weekend if you can. I haven't noticed that on my end nor have I heard a lot of complaints about it. Might be worth checking into.

edit: or wait to see if apple releases an iphone upgrade this summer and then take it in then and cross your fingers they give you a new replacement

Yeah...getting in and out of West Ed sure is fun.

I bought it at The Phone Booth. I would still need to go to the Apple Store? I've had it for about a month now.

I would assume Apple would handle any warranty stuff anyways, so I'd just take it there.

When I talked to Fido about getting my iPhone fixed they sent me to the Apple Store. Apparently Apple wants to handle all the warranty stuff directly?
