Good time to be a free agent goalie.

No way. He’s injured allllllll the time.

Sounds like he's going to retire on LTIR. I'm a little surprised a competitor like Smith would go out that way but I sense the Oilers were heavily pressuring him and Keith.

Chicago is rumoured to not be qualifying Dylan Strome.
6 ft 3, 25 years old, Centre, 22 goals 48 points -6 on a garbage Blackhawks team.
There’s your #2C behind Lindholm.

I think footspeed is a major concern for many. And justifiably.

3.37 GAA in 16 playoff games as a 40 year old man?
I’d have pressured him into retirement too.
No Koskinen, no Smith, no Keith…

That better not be in the cards for the flames. He might be the slowest guy in nhl .

Except it's not really retirement. He was healthy enough to play most of their games down the stretch and then three straight playoff series but apparently even with a summer to rehab he's not able to play next season? Seems pretty fishy to me.

Availability would be the bigger concern for me - Strome has only played 60+ games once his entire career.
When he plays, he’s quality. Besides, footspeed for a centre is not nearly as important as brain speed - Thornton, Kopitar, Bergeron, Draisaitl, etc etc none of these guys are “fast”.
Like Jagr said to Treliving “lots of guys go to the wrong places quickly. I go to the right places.”

I’m not gushing over Strome, he seems middling - he’s also a former teammate and friend of Connor McDavid. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him land in Edmonton.

What Chicago is doing is gross. Can't recall ever seeing such blatant tanking.

Krejci bolting to Europe, Debrusk asking for a trade and rescinding it after Cassidy is fired.
Are there any other players that did something that would indicate they wanted Cassidy gone without actually saying it?

He is perfect for Vegas then. They don’t keep their players for long enough, for them to want out because of disagreement with the coach.
