Vladdy with a hell of a pick and stretch at 1B. Great job to limit the damage. 6 soft singles in a row is garbage and hopefully the Jays can come back.

The strike was on the ump but let’s not ignore that Matz hasn’t been good at all today. After the first man got on base he should’ve been pulled but coaching doing their thing.

Hasn't been terrible either. Just a bunch of bloops and that one hard hit ball for the home run. The hit batter is on him though.

It used to happen all the time.

In old school baseball, the leadoff hitter was a speedster / base stealer. And bunting was standard operating procedure to start an inning / game.

I miss it, personally.
