“Fear” spelled out in Scrabble letters was a nice touch .

So from scrolling through the comments of that tweet, I guess in the QAnoniverse that Chester Bennington was actually John Podesta's illegitimate son, and that Chester's "suicide" was actually a murder to cover up Podesta's (and I assume every other Democrat currently living) molestation of him, and that the song choice is just another genius 491D chess move from Trump. The more you know I guess.

I don't think the science is at all settled on what to do with kids and school AFC. It's not just as simple as keep them at home. Who looks after the kids then? Who looks after the children of health care workers?
No Whiteout the science is clear, open schools, malls bars anything and the disease spreads and more people die, you can debate the economics of it but not the science, it may be a price that has to be paid but that is irrelevant to the science, in the US right now opening schools is insane
I feel like an idiot, but what the heck does AFC stand for?
AFC Wimbledon is a soccer club founded after the league allowed the old Wimbledon FC to relocate to Milton Keynes, I believe the AFC stands for Alternative Football Club to distinguish it from the origanal

This isn’t quite correct.
Yes increasing any form of contact between people will raise the transmission rate of the virus
When the transmission rates exceed 1 (1 sick person spreads it to more than 1 other) then the virus spreads.
Scientists have found that children do not spread the virus as easily as adults therefore the increase in transmission rate is not comparable with things like the the flu and in a an area where Covid is controlled opening schools makes a lot of sense and science supports it.
In areas with High Rts you are just going to make the issue worse.

Yes but what the science is saying is opening schools will cause a rise in all cases, under some circumstance that rise may be slight and containable.
Science saying 'go ahead, it won't be that bad' is not the same as 'go ahead, we think its a great idea'

Israel had it completely under control with some of the most severe restrictions early on. they were doing everything right. Then they opened the schools and now are back to square one, basically on the brink of losing control. To me it looks like kids, and teachers, will spread the virus in a classroom setting. Can't imagine what will happen in the States that fully open schools.
My grandkids are in Israel and being 6 and 8 were right in the thick of it. Thankfully they live in a nice moshav so it's somewhat calmer than what Tel Aviv or Jerusalem(would be brutal being very dense and tons of ultra orthodox) are but even so one of granddaughters friends tested positive.
Importantly, on May 17 in Israel it appeared the virus not only was under control, but defeated. Israel reported only 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the entire country that day. In the U.S., the debate often is about reopening schools where the disease is not only not in decline, but surging.
The road from anti-coronavirus paradigm to rampant infection in this country of 9 million people followed two months of almost total lockdown.
May 17 also was the day Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former rival Benny Gantz swore in their “corona emergency government,” whose sole declared purpose is to fight the spread of the virus. Netanyahu’s decree that the nation’s entire school system would reopen was a political flourish to signal everything was under control.
The announcement followed a more cautious experiment of several weeks in which only children in the first, second, and third grades were brought back to classrooms, and taught in small, non-intersecting groups called “capsules.
Hagai Levine, an epidemiologist at the Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and chairman of the Israeli Association of Public Health Physicians, said: “There was no measurable increase in contagion” while the capsules for young children were being tried out. Then, Levine says, “contrary to our advice, the government decided to open the entire system all at once on May 17. What happened next was entirely predictable.”
On June 3, two weeks after schools opened, more than 244 students and staff were found to test positive for COVID-19.According to the education ministry, 2,026 students, teachers, and staff have contracted COVID-19, and 28,147 are in quarantine due to possible contagion.Just in the first two weeks of July, 393 kindergartens and schools open for summer programs have been shuttered due to cases of COVID-19.

I have a hard time seeing how schools can open even if the states try. Too many parents are going to keep their kids out, and too many teachers are going to refuse to go. Things here in VA are better than a lot of other states, but I just can't see it happening and working. How many 14 day shutdowns after positive test can you have without completely disrupting the year? Once cold and flu season starts, it will be chaos. I wish they could start, but I just don't see how it could work.

I think October-November is going to be utter chaos in the US.
The combination of school and work disruptions, business closures, etc. and the political situation in the lead up to the election during that period of time is just going to create havoc.
