Probably a better learning experience for her to get blown out today rather than sticking around in a close loss. Now she knows how much she still has to work on to get that first major. Kind of like Milos in that they are close but not quite there. Hopefully today she learned that against the very best players it's not always going to be about her and sometimes she's going to have to change strategy.

Probably the best performance I've ever seen from a women's player. That was just remarkable. Again there's nothing to learn here, tip your cap and salute a terrific performance. Even on some of the lets and faults Kvitova was hitting crazy lines. Domination, nothing more to be said.

Nothing inherently wrong with Genie's initial plan, she just got blown off the court and Kvitova is a much better player, I don't know if any different plan would have helped.

First tennis match I've watched in over a decade. That was tough to watch....
I wonder if Genie will be playing in Toronto next month? If so, I might go down for a visit. It used to be my favourite summer sport to watch back in the Capriatti, Seles and Sampras days....

Navratilova used to routinely blow women off this court that she was in her prime. This was like that.

The loser version of the diet coke commercial...now that's depressing.

She definitely is, she's on all the promotions.
Learning experience today in that she's not invincible. Still needs to gameplan properly.

Yeah they're just talking about it on ESPN, 9 times she won it and the fastest was in 54 minutes.

Serena and Martina are the only women who would blow girls out this way. Reminded me of Hingis getting absolutely spanked by Serena over and over. When a big, strong girl brings her A-game against a waif, the waif stands no chance.

Steffi Graf too, she won finals 60 60 sometimes.

The amazing thing is she made the final without really playing her best tennis. She never really got into a rhythm like Kvitova did in the tournament, or like she did at the French. She obviously has room to grow and yet could easily win the US Open too.

Kudos to Kvitova. She seems lovely and soft-spoken. I didn't realize she was still so young.

Genie had four unforced errors in the match...that just shows you how dominant Kvitova was.

The second set was ugly. No worries this will make her a better player. She'll be even more determined now. I'm going to the US open this year I hope I get to see her play.

Genie giving full credit to Kvitova in the press conference was nice to see, Sharapova and Serena could learn a thing or two about doing that.
