This kid is fast and big. Very interesting to see how high he goes in the draft. Would think the Flames are likely pegging him high in their drafting order.

I haven't seen any indication of Button and co. being huge on Russians. Do you think they'd take the risk of drafting one? Tough to say.

Just as much risk IMO than tossing up a first and third for O'Reilly. The size and speed look too good to pass up. But apparently he signed a three year deal with traktor last summer so it might be two years before he sees the NHL.

Am I crazy for thinking Jon Gillies may win Hockey East Freshman, Goaltender and Player of the Year?
If PC wins it today, Gillies should be the player of year, IMO. Providence started the year just hoping to be competitive with all of their freshmen. But Gillies just kept on winning them games.

BC won 7-2. Gaudreau and Arnold both with two goals, Johnny with 6 points and Bill with 4.
It looks like Providence gets the fourth seed and will host New Hampshire. Boston College will play Vermont. The first round of the playoffs goes next weekend. It's a best of three series, all games are played at the home of the higher ranked team (good news for PC and BC).
If all of the higher ranked teams win next week, BC and PC could meet in the Hockey East Finals at the Garden in Boston on the 23rd.

I was confused at first as to why the last place team in the division was in the playoffs, but looks like they have a 1st round of the last placed teams to get into the next round of playoffs. So much confusion with ncaa hockey, each division has their own formats.

Michigan State picked up wins in Game One and Game Three of their first-round series versus Alaska. DeBlouw scored the game-winner in OT in Game One, snapping a 12-game scoring drought. The Spartans fell 4-1 in Game Two but held on in Game Three to get themselves into the next round.
DeBlouw's winning tally in Game One was a thing of beauty as the 19 year-old fended off three Alaska defenders in the high slot before snapping off a shot that beat netminder John Keeney low glove-side.
Miami, the top team in the CCHA in the regular season, will provide Michigan State with a big challenge

I hope they sign Ramage. He seems to have the type of leadership the Flames need. His upside is probably bottom paring NHL defenseman, but he is a guy every team would want.
