I'm not BChockeyJunkie, but since Arnold is a senior he will very likely be signing a contract with the Flames once BC's season ends.

When could we expect BC's final game to be?
I'm just curious if JG will be able to suit up for a few regular season games with the Flames this season. Surely he will be in Abbotsford for the playoffs?

The NCAA's Frozen Four is April 10 & 12. The Flames last game is April 13.

Depends how far they make it. The last possible date would be April 12, the end of the NCAA Frozen Four tournament (Flames finish on the 13th in Vancouver). The regional championships are March 29-30 so BC could be eliminated at that point which would give the BC guys as many as 7 NHL games this season.

So potentially a half dozen NHL games.
Anyone know when AHL playoffs start?

I am not sure if I have this right so please correct me, but..
According to this schedule:
http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-hoc...key-sched.html
BC's last regular season game is March 1st, they by pass the opening round of the playoffs if they finish in the top 3? Which would automatically place them in the QF's which are March 14/15/16 in a best of 3 series.
From the QF's on they could be eliminated at any time, they are obviously going to be the favourites but upsets happen.
Odds are though we see a deep playoff run with the Semifinals on the 21st of March followed by the finals on the 22.
This leads into the NCAA Regionals March 28th/29th/30th and Frozen Four Semi's April 10th followed by the final on the 12th.
Edit: Took me a while to type all of this out I now see my post is redundant :P Ah well.

Has any Hobey Baker candidate who signed an NHL contract before the Hobey Baker winner is announced still go on to win the Hobey Baker?
LeBlanc, Geoffrion, Gilroy, Porter, Leopold all signed NHL contracts only after the Hobey Baker was awarded to them.
edit:
It appears Matt Carle signed his NHL contract a month before he won the Hobey Baker.

I was just watching the ticker the other day when I noticed that Atikinson has scored 13 goals this season so far. For some reason it reminded me of this thread and I remembered earlier in this thread he was touted as a comparable.
I think Johnny is a much better prospect.

If Gaudreau translates over to the NHL, there is no reason why he couldn't be a Danny Briere/Martin St. Louis/Mike Cammalleri type forward. He certainly has all the skills necessary to become a really good scorer in the league.
He is a better player than Cam Atkinson was at the same age. He could easily become a 30 goal guy with his skill set.

Yeah. In Cam Atkinson's first NCAA season, he was as old as Gaudreau was in his second. A couple months older, actually.
Cam Atkinson, season 1: 36 GP, 7 G, 12 A, 19 PTS (0.53 PPG)
Johnny Gaudreau, same age: 35 GP, 21 G, 30 A, 51 PTS (1.46 PPG)
Cam Atkinson, season 2: 42 GP, 30 G, 23 A, 53 PTS (1.26 PPG)
Johnny Gaudreau, same age (so far): 21 GP, 19 G, 21 A, 40 PTS (1.90 PPG)
And Atkinson is a fine young player.

With Johnny inching towards the 2.0 PPG clip, it's interesting to note that such NCAA products as Zach Parise, Dany Heatley, Paul Stastney, Ryan Kesler, Phil Kessel and Jonathan Toews never broke that mark in their US college careers. Then again, some didn't go into their 3rd seasons at their respective colleges, but were all around the 1-1.5 PPG clip in their sophomore years (extremely comparable to Gaudreau). Here are a couple comparisons:
Toews vs. Gaudreau:
Rookie season:
Toews 42GP 22G 17A - 39PTS = 0.93ppg
Gaudreau 44GP 21G 23A - 44PTS = 1.00ppg
Sophomore season:
Toews 34GP 18G 28A - 46PTS = 1.35ppg
Gaudreau 35GP 21G 30A - 51PTS = 1.46ppg
Toews would go on to score 24 goals and nearly a PPG the next season in the NHL.
Stastny vs Gaudreau:
Rookie season:
Stastny 42GP 17G 28A - 45PTS = 1.07ppg
Gaudreau 44GP 21G 23A - 44PTS = 1.00ppg
Sophomore season:
Stastny 39GP 19G 34A - 53PTS = 1.36ppg
Gaudreau 35GP 21G 30A - 51PTS = 1.46ppg
Stastny would go on to score 28 goals and just shy of a PPG in the NHL the next season.
Of course, Johnny is a different player in many ways, but the stats are there, and he was either comparable or exceeding in production when compared to a couple pretty big names. I think it's safe to say that if he can make it work at the NHL level, we've got another future player that can be put in the same pool as those listed above.
For me, next season can't come soon enough.

The Boston College Jersey's look incredible. Too bad the NCAA rules prevent you from getting name and number put on. I know you could probably find someone here to do that for you but it would be nice to have it done in one package.

The NCAA is a pathologically illogical entity, and if they disband tomorrow, nobody should cry. What a farce.

Yeah I totally agree his ceiling is much higher. I think he is going to be a special player. Just wanted to be conservative with the expectations (at least publicly).
At the end of the day I think Johnny is first round talent found in the 4th round.

He's top 10 talent found in the 4th round.
And an example of why you take risks and projects in the middle rounds.
