There have been two rumors this year that Flames were talking to teams about Neal already. Both Wennberg and Neal have 4 years left after this one...wonder what the Flames would have to add to Neal to make that swap.

If Wennberg's contract wasn't so ugly, he would probably be a decent gamble for a reclamation project, but 4 years left at 4.9/year?

I completely agree with the fact that he would kinda be out of place. However, I think he could be an excellent backup option for the top line if someone were to get injured, specifically Lindholm. Ferly could slot in on the top line. All a while, it's not like he will be useless on the third line. For me, I guess it depends on the price.

Why are we talking about Ferland still ?!? There are a handful of options out there before him that are just as good and way more consistent.

There seems to be 2 kinda of people on this forum. Ferland homers that fell in love with him in 2015 and people that see just a mid-range streaky winger.

I think Johansson is the play. Reported asking price of a 2nd. Can play all 3 forward positions up and down the lines.

Only downside is he isn't the physical force you typically want in the Western conference. and also injury concerns.
