Triangle of Sadness was better - it's on Crave for those who haven't seen it.

Send Help was a faster pace, slightly elevated B movie, largely in part to that Sam Rami verve. But boy did it ever suffer a third act collapse.

As for James Bond, thanks for the recommendations. I finished the Craig movies, and against my better judgement I've watched two of the Brosnan entries, so it would seem I'm going backwards through the catalogue.

Casino Royale 4.5/5
Quantum of Solace 2/5
Skyfall 4.5/5
Spectre 2.5/5
No Time to Die 3/5

The Craig films were all over the place. I'm torn as to whether Casino Royale or Skyfall is my favourite, and as I watched both I was convinced each was it.

Quantum was so unwatchable I had trouble keeping up with the plot. It didn't help that the story was ####, but even the action was uninspired. There was very little for me to latch onto to hold focus. Two stars is probably quite generous here.

Spectre felt like two movies crammed into one. Christopher Waltz and Andrew Scott were fine, but the movie lacked a strong antagonist.

No Time to Die was slightly better, but there was just no emotional weight to it (but I'm willing to concede that I might be dead inside). A very forgettable sunset. It's interesting to think what a Danny Boyle Bond film might have looked like...

That's how I see the Craig movies too. Casino Royale was great. Was let down by Quantum. Went into Skyfall not expecting much but loved it.

The last two just seemed so derivative and boring. It was like they'd written themselves into a corners with some of the Bond vs. MI6 storylines in the previous films.

I recently had the thought that I remember the early internet as people generally just comparing lists. Those were the days.

Debate all we want though, the pinnacle of the Bond franchise's achievements was indisputably producing 007: GoldenEye for the N64 in the summer of 1997.

Actually haven't seen it. The DVD collection I got ends with the Brosnan ones, got Casino Royale on blu ray then haven't seen any of the ones newer than that.

I'll get around to them, maybe this year

6. The living daylights
7. the spy who loved me

24. moonraker
25. octopussy
26. die another day

obviously subjective; and the new ones are way more of a production so the story and spectacle are better.

This was also done after immediate viewing; so there are some things i would change (i believe i ultimately did move no time to die and world is not enough a bit lower from where they were to begin with.

But some key takeaways:

- Craig era is stellar and meh all in one.
- From Russia with Love is easily the best Connery
- Timothy Dalton is underrated, but the darker tone of his movies probably wok better now than in the 80's.
- License to Kill is the least Bond movie, but probably one of the best! his revenge plot is epic.

I don't mind it at all.

Sophie Marceau is great in it. Denise Richards is fine... i think she gets a lot of guff over this role. I think Marceau's character offers a decent change to the regular paint by numbers styles of some below.

Also, some of these films are just so dated. I feel like we are blessed with these films being quire grandiose nowadays - many in the 70's and 80's are like popcorn flicks.

If it were possible to re-edit the world is not enough to remove almost every line of dialogue that Richards has in that movie it would be much better.

Sophie Marceau actually does a great job as a villain. Especially since Robert Carlysle is under utilized. He’s almost the henchman.

I much prefer it to seeing Jonathan Pryce as the snivelling media mogul in tomorrow never dies. His whole plan for world domination was absolutely ridiculous. It wasn’t even a plan for world domination he literally just wanted to start a war to sell newspapers in China which makes no sense.

What’s important is that we all agree that die another day is one of the worst movies ever made. I don’t even just mean Bond movies either. I mean ever. I don’t know how Halle Berry ever won an Oscar. The woman couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag.

And Rosamund Pike is so great and so wasted in that movie.

It's so bad it's almost good....but not actually good. It almost come across as a non-funny parody of an Austin Powers film.

I've watched a handful of the Bond films (including all the Craig ones in the last year) and do not remember a single thing from any of them.

An entirely unremarkable franchise.
