The Packers ended up winning fairly easily without having to "kill" the lions and there is a big difference in the quality of the Packers and Pats as well.

A very nice start for the Cowboys mixing it up with a little Jones, Barber and of course Owens.

Agreed, the Captain's logo is pretty lame. They should have allowed the individual teams to design them.
I believe that the stars under the "C" are to indicate how many years the player has been voted captain, with the star colored gold for the number of years. Obviously, every player has only one gold star this year.

Someone else who thinks Favre may have a little something to do with what may be a career year for Favre.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...fri&id=3123660
I know I surely did not think the old man had it in him anymore, but to be setting career bests at 38 (IIRC) is impressive, especially after setting career worsts in several stats the two previous years. Favre is getting very close to breaking a QB rating of 100 for the first time in his career, is on pace for a career high in yards, and has a great shot at a career low in INT's. Seems sensible to me to conclude he has turned his personal play up a notch or two, but others may (and do) disagree.

Favre's play on Thursday was just another example of how remarkable he has been all season. The beauty of his play is that he's no longer the reckless gunslinger who threw 38 touchdown passes and 47 interceptions the previous two seasons. He's managing the game now with his deft decision-making. He's controlling the tempo with his masterful touch and he's still dangerous enough to burn unsuspecting defensive backs downfield.

It's that efficiency that has made the Packers offense, a unit that has averaged 33.8 points in its last four games, even more potent as the season has progressed. Favre currently has seven 300-yard passing games this season, which ties his career high. He's also had a passer rating of at least 100 in his last five games, which also matches the best run of his career.

I'm already countin down the days until the Packers/Cowboys game next Thursday(thank God I have NFL Network), what a game that's gonna be! 10-1 Packers @ 10-1 Cowboys. The way these two teams have been dominating lately, this one's almost as big as the Pats/Colts game a couple weeks back(and will probably see alot more offence in this one too). I'm sure most will be pickin the Cowboys, but my money's on the Pack!

That guy can think whatever he likes.
From the mouth of Brett Favre in an interview with James Brown and the CBS gang that aired after the Cowboys/Jets debacle he stated quite clearly...
"i know people get tired of me saying this but Im not playing any better than I have in the past"
He did explain that because the team has been playing with the lead this year as compared to the last couple he has not been having to take as many chances as he had been because of playing from behind. he also stated that if they are to find themselves trailing in a game, he will start to take chances because "thats how I play the game".
He also went out of his way to praise Donald Driver for making his job easier than it would be otherwise because #80 makes the plays when they need them.
The whole team is better, especially on offense and in the secondary. Also found it fascinating when it was said the Packers are the youngest team in the league. Hard to believe.
I worry for their chances next week however with the loss of both Charles Woodson and KGB in todays game. It looked like KGB was in real trouble but apparently the x-rays were negative. Still looked like a bad sprain at the very least. Without those two I dont think the Packers D has a chance against the Cowboys offense.
Also anyone else catch Terry Bradshaw state that he believes that Favre is the best QB to EVER play the game. Thats some lofty praise considering the source.

Yeah, I was just joking. To be fair, Joey Harrington could win 4 championships with Swann, Stallworth, Harris and that defense. Bradshaw was a decent quarterback, but there's plenty I would throw in front of him on my all-time list.

Has the NFL become like NCAA - elite teams being judged by margin of victory?

Anyone hear what the announcer said about hockey in the Indy/Atl game? He was talking about how Uteche use to be a good goalie in high school "in Minnesota where hockey is actually important"
