So what albums are most anticipated for 2012? Laroux was trending on twitter yesterday? Anyone hear if new material is comming from them or the indie band they were collaberating with? I heard the other day that Biffy Clyro are releasing a double album this year that will be ready by April and the concept is a fork in the road and one path is right decisions and one path is wrong decisions and each album is going to represent each path.
Pink says the next Haunted Graffiti album will be "[loosely] based on a childhood movie that I made with my cousins, basically a combination of Ghost and Ford Fairlane. It's like a rock-and-roll detective story. There's a rock star who dies onstage and his brother wants to get to the bottom of the caper." Pink tells V the record will be called A Death in Hollywood, but according to a representative, that title is not confirmed.
V also mentions a new collaborative album between Pink and fellow lo-fi artist R. Stevie Moore, noting the extremely controversial album title of Ku Klux Glam. A track from the album surfaced last summer, but as the magazine notes, a 35-track "unfinished" version of the full album is on Soundcloud. It was posted four months ago.
According to the video teaser you can watch and listen to below, Gene Ween (aka Aaron Freeman) is releasing his first solo album, entitled Marvelous Clouds, via Partisan Records on April 10th. Check it out....
Back in June, Santigold (the artist formerly known as Santogold, aka Santi White) said she was finishing up the "last minute details" of a new record, and we haven't heard much since. But consider it a good sign that she's at least given it a title: She told V magazine that it's called Master of My Make-Believe.
She also told the magazine that she's worked with celebrated songwriter/producer Greg Kurstin, Major Lazer's Switch, TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner on the album. (Santigold, TV on the Radio and Zinner are all slated to appear on the upcoming Amadou & Mariam album, too.) No word on whether "Go", featuring Karen O, is on the album.
Canadian rockers The Weakerthans haven’t released a new album since 2007, but frontman John K. Samson is set to release his first solo record this upcoming January. Provincial contains re-recorded tracks from two previous EPs, but a fresh batch that explores landmarks from Samson’s life in Manitoba.
Bruce Springsteen's new album 'Wrecking Ball' has been set for March 6 release on Columbia Records. Marking his 17th studio album, 'Wrecking Ball' features 11 new Springsteen songs and was produced by Ron Aniello with Bruce Springsteen and executive producer Jon Landau. A special edition of 'Wrecking Ball' will also be available and include two bonus tracks and exclusive artwork and photography.
I'm always a litle torn when a new Springsteen album comes out. They're generally decent albums but they just don't hold a candle to any of the 70s and 80s stuff he put out.
That said, I think I dig this new track. I always like bitter, angry, sarcastic Bruce.
In celebration of the band's 40th anniversary, Roxy Music will embark on a career-spanning reissue campaign. On April 2, Virgin will put out an eight-CD/four-DVD box set called Roxy Music: The Complete Studio Recordings 1972-1982. It includes eight Roxy Music studio albums: 1972's Roxy Music, 1973's For Your Pleasure and Stranded, 1974's Country Life, 1975's Siren, 1979's Manifesto, 1980's Flesh and Blood, and 1982's Avalon, along with "high-resolution audio" versions of the albums on DVD.

I'm still not sure what I think of this song. I like the music, I like the chorus, but the rest of lyrics are kind of weak I think. Also, it just doesn't feel like E Street without the Big Man.
